Liverpool Home Ground?

Well that looks a like the direction then.

If its a 18K-20K stadium you might as well fold the club. I can tell you with all certainty that this will lead to the clubs demise. The club will fail to meet profitability levels required to continue.
If its 30K+ stadium then by all means.

However this goes in the face of where the club is actually located. Concord and Ashfield and there is no logic to the statements Hagipantelis has made. I think it is an error of judgement on the part of our chairman.

SFS is in the Eastern Suburbs
ANZ is the worse ground in the comp.

SFS is nice and close to Ashfield and Concord.

Parramatta is just as close, and quicker to get to? Not to mention closer to other areas in our catchment.

I wouldn't and I lots of others that I know would not set foot in Parramatta Stadium.

Doesn't mean much to you or the club but that is fact - hopefully there are lots more of us.

This is what our chairman had to say from that article:

WESTS TIGERS

Wests Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis wants a shift to Liverpool but won’t allow the club to ignore the club’s spiritual home grounds – Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium.

“Those grounds would always remain part of our programming. They are spiritual homes of Wests Tigers,” he said. “There is always a certain sensitivity with our fans and members about where we play. We understand that.

“But moving forward, I could envisage a time when we find ourselves a home ground and then have opportunities to return to Leichhardt and Campbelltown as and when required through the course of a year.

“Wests Tigers would be very excited at the prospect of a stadium at Liverpool, which would well serve our geographic home. It would be the epicentre of our geographic footprint.

“It also seems to fit in with the favoured approach of our NRL chairman, Peter V’landys, who speaks very highly about tribalism in our game and the importance of suburban grounds and that is something I would support 100 per cent. It would be something Wests Tigers would look upon very favourably.

Makes sense.

Doubt the club would even give a thought to the SFS considering it's likely the furthest ground from the majority of our fan base.

Couldn't care less either way. As long as the beer is cold and the pies are warm I'll go anywhere...

The Liverpool junior clubs play in our junior league and you just want to give the area away. You don't like Bankwest as its in Parra, this would be in our territory and people still complain.

It would be no ones home ground it would be a venue shared by WTS and BULLDOGS. Will agree Wankwest is Slimeys homeground.
Bulldogs will still be based at Belmore and WTS at COE at Concord.
LIVERPOOL would be an ideal location it is gradually being rebuilt its on a major rail line and not far from M5 & M7 motorways and not far from the new Airport and the population explosion that will occur in the future will ensure ongoing support for the club and its within Wests junior boundaries win win win for everyone

Wasn’t Liverpool the original proposition when they were getting some redevelopment called “star” or something. They were going to Turn Liverpool all saints , the old west Sydney razorbacks facility , and the pools into this big thing . It never happened .

It may all be a “look over there” distraction from Gladys’ problems, giving her time to pull her panties back up.

This will be budgeted, PVL started pushing for this as soon as ANZ was scrapped.

Perhaps hold a heritage round once a year for the dinosaurs who think that the northern end toilets/dungeon at Leichhardt are acceptable in this day and age.

Not at an 18K to 20K stadium. This is a deliberate attempt to stifle growth. Parra got a 30K stadium, Roosters will have 45K stadium. All the out of Sydney clubs will have larger stadiums than 20K. Liverpool will be the death of the club. It will be the way for the NRL to squeeze us out.

We need to start pushing for it to be 30k right now.

At least. If think 40K to 45K is the right size.

I think that is a little too big

We have to think of 20 to 30 years down the track and beyond, not what’s right for now. Funding for stadiums is hard, you want to future proof it.

In 20 or 30 years the talk will be how old the stadium is and we need an upgrade . That’s the general order of things

Reading the articles is sounds like Kogarah will be first funded. Very strange given Kogarah has better facilities then many suburban grounds and the sharks ceo is quoted as saying over his dead body and the dragons ceo saying the investment won’t prompt them to play any more games there. Obviously I prefer the SFS but if it’s Liverpool then so be it but given bulldogs, tigers and perhaps Macathur FC all need a home we should be top of the list

I was all for Bankwest but the players and the club see it nothing more than a money grab. Whats more playing our home games against the Eels there is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen this club do.

As for Liverpool its big no for me.

As someone from the Balmain side of things i see only way forward and thats a total redevelopment of Campbelltown into our own 20k seat super stadium.

Allowances will have to be made with our branding and jersey design to appease the Balmain side of things but thats easy to sort out. Easy to sort out with strong off field leadership.

We look to have stability and strength in our leadership at the moment. Id trust these guys to transition to Campbelltown and do it in a way that has the support of both sides of the merger.

The problem is that the govt doesn't seem to be building a stadium there.

I believe that could change with a strong leadership decision and a full commitment to the stadium, ie an announcement that we are moving all of our home games to the stadium and playing nowhere else.

The government will never back a redevelopment for a handful of games.
