Lolohea

Why would Manly want a swap to free up cap space if Lolohea is on big money (I doubt he is personally). They would end up in the same position.

I had high hopes for him but he seems to have fallen off a bit - appears to be carrying an injury. I think he’s still a chance to come good.

Im with you CFK,I havent given up on Tui and this injury maybe the reason for his slump…I hope he gets fit real soon because he can add heaps to this team when he is right,we have all seen what he can do...

Obviously Manly have to swap a player of a higher cap hit for Lolohea if it were to happen. What would Taupau be on - 600? I think Lolo is on 350 so that would be a good deal for them except that, the way it stands at the moment, Marty is a lot more valuable.
Like a lot of people, I would love to know what's really going on with Tui. My hunch is it is what has already been mentioned i.e. poor form and a niggling knee injury, as well as a lack of fitness which equals ISP and time off to get the knee right. I don't think Ivan has given up on him yet.

Marty would be on close to 750 possibly even 800 on his backloaded contract

Geez, that's a lot! No wonder they're in trouble with the cap.

Tui has so much potential but unfortunately he couldn’t lift a finger to save himself. I was so excited to see him at fullback but he’s just too damn lazy and Cleary must be embarrassed about going out on a limb to secure him from the Warriors.

Rumour on facebook that Tui has suffered a career ending injury, probably rubbish but does anyone have any news?

Seen plenty of players battle on with heartlidge problems

Gee this seems to have gone pear shape.
Unfortunately this may mean that we lose another one.
If so we need to replenish out backline stocks.

I wouldn’t swap tui for tapau
Tapau is always getting suspended, I like his aggression but one day he will end up like burgess meaning he will have a small indiscretion and be suspended for 3-4 matches, for something minor which would normally be a 1 match suspension

He does have a Burgess like aggression to him. This may lead him to getting suspended.

Souths really hurt without Burgess, but they lack the forward Depth. If we add Marty to our pack we could handle an occasional suspension. Maybe frontload his contract this season a fair bit.

I think he would offer the impact that we need at the front.

Unless you are certain on the character of the player, front loaded contracts are more likely to cost than backended ones.

Hope there's no major issue with Tui and we see him back on the paddock shortly.

I wish the Tiges would give us regular updates on players rehab like they used to. There is nothing anywhere about an injury to Tui so it must be a deeper issue. But why treat us like mushrooms. His last ISP performance was 4th grade standard. .

In the coaching insider video Tui is mentioned by Ivan Cleary.

Injured in Rd 1, injured his knee, didn't fully recover and returned his form dipped and lost explosiveness due to injury, re injured the existing injury. Resting until next game where he should be back available for selection.

It's amazing a player is bought into a club on good coin to then only play sub standard league. He started off well last year. If he is injured, why is he still playing lower grades?

He might be homesick?

Maybe clauses need to be put into contracts stating that if performances aren't up to standard, the contract then can be re-negotiated. I know (and would expect) if I were to be employed and didn't perform, I would be asked to leave.

He has not played for weeks in lower grades.

Right thanks. Goes to show how much I pay attention.

This kid seems to have some serious skill, just haven't seen it this year which is a shame.

Good to hear from Ivan that it was as most suspected and he re-injured his knee and should be up for selection next week.
