Lote was never coming to NRL..the difference in his pay packet of NRL to French Rugby is almost a $million pa,& given hes probably got only 2-3 yrs left he has to maximise his earning potential

the only way he would have come to the nrl is if he needed to show a cry-poor pay packet for legal reasons to ensure he got a good payout from union.
As soon as a settlement was reached with the aru no league club had a hope.

LOL He has gone OS to drive up his price/ take the heat off his family (who he is not in the good books with) and put the emphasis back on this weekends run for the finals…I wonder if this trip is coming entirely out of his own pocket?

Not worth it. He jerked Souths around a few years ago by saying he was interested in playing NRL.
He's doing the same thing to the Tigers. Waste of time. I'd rather go for Sailor.

Co-starring Balmain Bug as Pinky Tuscadero

 i think I am Laverne (or Shirley) I cant remeber now, I just need to work out how to change my avatar name . . . . . . . . anyhow, With the Roosters, Tuqiri met and sat down with one of the most powerful men in Australia who obviously made a huge impression on him. With the Wests Tigers, they got Robbie Farah to do a TV grab in front of the camera's begging him to join us and say he already lives in the Balmain area and it is a beautiful place to live yahda yahda. I love the Wests Tigers Players, but the Fonz and his Crew are a Joke. Not a ha ha joke, but a sad joke.

Just like they forced Robbie and Benji to do media stunts at the begining of the year when there was an uproar that J Mo was playing halfback and everybody but Gallant was playing fullback.

Look at what Todd Greenberg done for the Bulldogs yesterday, we had a top notch CEO and the board turfed him because he wanted to put performance indicators into place. Wests Tigers management (The Fonz) are a joke.

Really?

I thought that Sheens made contact with him directly at a West Harbor game before the termination of his contract with the ARU was announced. That and they had a conversation about it after he was terminated.

The Farah media spot you were reffering to was him responding to media questions at a weekly press conference

Don't let the facts get in the way of Laverne's fantascies…........

It'll get boring....

You know Sheens has done all this just cause it annoys Bug....Heeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

The Roosters also said they could only offer Tuqiri a entry level contract or something like that of $55K as they had no room within their salary cap. For the life of me I could not imagine Politis getting out of bed and discussing a $55K contract with Tuqiri and I don't think Tuqiri would bother either no matter how much spin they put on the great vision they have for the Roosters.

Whilst the Roosters are still called the RSPCA - as they attract all the unwanted Dogs, I would not believe anything that is said from that mob.

Sa was arrested last night for punching up a bouncer then Police officers last night in Coogee I think….hence the Roosters will tear up his contract and $200,000 has magically appeared for them to chase Lote.....All smoke and mirrors from the Tigers again.

He would be a great promotion tool for the club, but even blind Freddy can see what we need at the club

"Top Notch CEO"….pppfffft.

No he wasn't. He had limited and minimal quals and experience when he came to the Tigers (from a poisonous culture at Cronulla I'll add), instantly alienated EVERYONE (not just your friend Sheens). No doubt such a "top notch" CEO would be in high demand after becoming available and he has been snapped up by........*crickets chirping*

Just found out got a consultant coming to help in company on friday who lives next to (or a few doors down) from Lote in balmain. Must get him to find out whats going on!

This week's RLW has an article on Lote and how the Tigers are still favoured to get him if he decides to come back to League. Sheens sounds optimistic in the article, but this would have been written before Setimata Sa got himself into trouble at the Roosters. It mentions that if the Tigers did snare Lote, Sheens would start him on the wing with a view to moving him to fullback once he's match fit.

Are you sure it said fullback…..I think Sheens meant halfback....we all know who the dope wants at fullback

Tuqiri close to French deal

LOTE Tuqiri will turn his back on the Sydney Roosters and Wests Tigers and sign with French rugby union.

The Daily Telegraph understands Tuqiri is close to signing with Bayonne, the same club which enticed former Panthers Test halfback Craig Gower to Europe.

Former Broncos, Queensland and Kangaroos winger Tuqiri, who turns 30 this season, seems unlikely to ever play rugby league again.

Sources within France claim that Tuqiri will sign a deal worth $800,000 a season.

The Tigers and Roosters had expressed an interest in Tuqiri, who was sacked by the ARU for an undisclosed off-field misdemeanour.

Tuqiri had met one-on-one with Tigers coach Tim Sheens and was wanted by influential Sydney Roosters chairman Nick Politis.

But Tuqiri was aware that NRL clubs, hindered by the game's salary cap, could have only offered him $200,000 to $250,000 a season.

It is understood Tuqiri could officially sign with Bayonne as early as today. Leading French manager Pierre Vandome told his Australian connections late last night that the deal was just about complete.

Vandome was not answering his mobile phone last night.

The Tigers were last night unaware Tuqiri - who is due back in Australia today or tomorrow - was poised to shift to France.

The ARU terminated Tuqiri's contract on July 1 and has since reached a financial settlement over his sacking.

Tuqiri said he would not divulge the reasons for his termination because of a confidentiality clause.

Only yesterday, Sheens expressed some hope of signing Tuqiri and playing the match-winner at fullback.

"If he came to us, we would start him on the wing to allow him to get used to the pace of the game again," Sheens told Rugby League Week. "But after that, we would see how he went at fullback and I think that move appeals to him.

"That is something we can offer him that the other parties can't. The Roosters have just re-signed Anthony Minichiello and in rugby they would use him (Tuqiri) as a centre/winger." I'm pretty sure."

Tuqiri's manager, Les Ross, was not answering his phone last night.

their wealth, Bayonne play at Parc des Sports stadium, which holds just 12,000 fans.

The financial carrot offered by French Rugby was always going to be a telling factor in Tuqiri's future. It's probably $600k more than he could get in league at the moment.

One of Wests Tigers biggest Pipedreams…........it was never going to happen.
Oh well, I guess when the confirmation of Lote is gone, it only will help Gallant to stay at the Tigers and Balmain Bug is wrrrrrrrrroooooong again
