If I remember correctly, Benji was not going to be under contract to two codes at once. He was to be off contract at the tigers, go play rah rah, then come back and sign with the tigers. Gallop must stand down.
I don't think Lote turning up in April will disrupt the side at all. Bringing in a half/hooker, sure, but not a full-back or winger.
Bring it on I say. I think he will kill it in tigers colours.
I think that the difference is that our 'great' former CEO told Gallop about the Benji deal, and that the contract with the Tigers was already signed for when he came back, which Gallop saw as Benji being under contract with the Tigers. If he had kept quiet then pulled out Benji's contract from the top draw in March when he got back then, by Gallop's attitude here, everything would have been fine. My guess is that is what we hope to do with Lote (ie stike a deal before he leaves then have him return and sign the contract then instead of being shopped around when he returns).
