Why don't we put our effort and 3rd party energy into Sam Burgess a prop who we need, not a winger who they want at fullback,we have some of those. 😕

you don't think Lote can handle full-back?

I think Lote would be good at Fullback, even more so than Moltzen.

Having Lote join WT would be a major drawcard and his presence would bring a lot more $$$ through the gate. I am also not saying we should not chase or try and do a deal with Burgess, but to be honest having Lote on board will be a marketing teams dream.

Having Benji, Robbie and Lote as the face of WT…...sensational.

100% with you we need front rowers to win the comp not this lote or any more backs please :deadhorse:

At least if Lote is fullback, Moltzen will play in the halves!

I think the main reason why they are looking at signing him is more publicity and finance it could provide to the club, a bit like Benji really.

I dont know if he would be a success but I like the thought of Lote at fullback and TNT on the wing (If he recovers well from his injury).

If we sign Lote for a season than I would hope we advise the 3rd party sponsor of our wish to roll over that element for Burgess

that is easier said than done.
burgess is a nobody here and i doubt many would give you the time of day about a 3rd party deal.

Maybe, but I think it would just add to an already unbalanced team, this is nothing more than PR imo.

Anyone remember when we ''went after'' jamie Lyon?

We need props

The Tigers are keen to use Tuqiri as a fullback and are also believed to be **prepared to offer him a back-ended contract**. >

Has everyone missed this bit…..or is it just me......

We seemed to have cleared the decks for 2010 ......only to start it all over again...... :brick:

because if lote comes to the nrl he would be the most photographed and interviewed player in the comp.

burgess would get about the same publicity as ellis did, a bit but nothing that would excite a third party sponsor

If we are after Lote to get media exposure and lift our exposure, I will give the club a tip, buy two quality frontrowers and the club will win plenty of games and with winning comes exposure. The media already love us, imagine if we actually played a few games in september, they would go crazy.

anyway their has to be something going on, the coaching team must know what every other person knows that we have next to no fire power up front

apparently we are going to offer a 3 year 850k contract plus 3rd party agrement to supplement his income to make it worth around 375k a season for him. dunno if hell take it but not to many outside backs get more then that in the NRL.

was on the radio this afternoon

When i hear we could get him im happy, when i hear we wont im happy. I just dont know what to make of it all. I think overall i'd be happy to pass on Lote, but if we do get him, it will fill me with a bit of excitement. If your having trouble keeping up with my thoughts, u should try being me and putting up with this brain

Lotes manager has a track record of extracting every last cent out of all parties(thats his job)…& then settling for the highest offer, but only after extracting just a little more.
As a result he was way overpaid in Rugby,& that put him in the sights of management.Thats why he is where he is(plus a little errant behaviour)
Whilst the quoted $375pa ++ at Tigers wld make him by far the highest paid winger in NRL,you can bet negotiations are proceeding concurrently with European & Japan Rugby where he can earn easily more than double this figure.
Dont hold your breath folks...he's still in his peak rugby earning years

It wont make him the highest paid winger in the NRL because he wont be playing wing. Sheens has said u cant pay that much for a winger. Its believed we will play him fullback, and i'd say if he doesnt fire there, right centre would be his next option.

He played well at outside centre when with the Wallabies so if fullback didn't work out he could play right centre.

If we sign Lote, Moltzen plays halfback and PR will be happy. If we don't sign Lote, halfback and fullabck still have questions over them while we have a fair amount of salary cap room.

Whats not to like about signing Lote…..he is a weapon.Big fast and strong, can fill centre/wing/FB,and would put bums on seats as he is a big star!!!!Im drooling at the thought of him steaming off Farah?Marshall........yum yummmmmms!!

And he lives in Balmain........its a perfect fit for mine.

ANd for the "we need forwards" brigade,I reckon Dwyer and Fifita are ready for firsts, they have been outstanding all year and Dwyer proved he is ready for firsts buy playing there and going very well. Why buy what we already have????
