so it sounds like the idea of playing union for a bit then starting NRL halfway through season won't be hapening.

I would actually think it is more likely to happen.

Remember what Marshall was contemplating. The Japanese Rugby Union runs from late October to late February. Tuqiri could play a season there and then come back to us.

if that was the case he wouldn't be deciding between the 2 because there wouldn't be a decision to make, he would just do both.

LOTE Tuqiri could make a shock return to Australian rugby fields - wearing the colours of a South African Super 14 franchise.
>
Speculation on Tuqiri's future took an intriguing twist yesterday when the axed Wallaby said he had been in talks with at least one South African team for 2010\. He said NRL was still on the cards, but his camp had been in talks in Cape Town, which is the home of the Stormers.
>
But the 2009 champions the Bulls, from Pretoria, are also interested.
>
The big winger, who is also believed to have had a big offer from the Neath-Swansea Ospreys in Wales, is being pursued by several Japanese clubs and he admitted he'd been contacted by Sonny Bill Williams' club Toulon.
>
"I'm talking to Toulon and I might even be playing against the boys next year in South Africa (in the) Super 14,'' Tuqiri told http://www.clubrugby.com.au. "We will wait and see. A lot of things have to happen before that.''

Tuqiri returned to the SFS in commentary duties for the Shute Shield decider yesterday and admitted he was "itching'' to get back on the field. He said he hoped to nail down his futue in the next fortnight.
>
The chances of Tuqiri remaining in Australia are strong, however. The big winger is a dedicated family man and is keen to raise his kids at home.
>
Tuqiri hinted he may be looking at a short-term rugby contract before returning for an NRL team next year. The former Kangaroo has held talks with the Roosters and the Wests Tigers.
>
"There are things that may happen where I have a short stint somewhere and come back to that. There are a lot of things up in the air," Tuqiri said in commentary.
>
"You don't want to leave Australia. You have everything here, pretty much. You are going to miss out on a lot here, you have family and such."
>
Wales is a place Tuqiri does appreciate, however. "I have had a chat to them (the Ospreys). That's where it sits at the moment. I have always enjoyed Wales and playing there. It is an option," Tuqiri said. "It is always nice to be wanted."

Lote wants to play with everyone.

We should not be part of this circus, let him go and get as much cash as he likes, and just spend his dough on Lima and Cayless.

Im over this bloke…seems to be prostituting himself around to the highest bidder...common Lote, hurry up and make up your mind on what you are doing next season, so we can put this boring topic to bed....If he wanted to be with us, Im sure a deal would have been done by now

No offence but South Africa would be the last place I'd want to live. Perhaps I'm just ignorant but from what I've heard it's not the safest place on the planet to live. Does the money mean that much to him, seriously???

I was originally very excited about us looking to sign him but he's showing all the hallmarks of being another ben teo

I agree Spaceman…..he would be a marketing dream, but really it's hard mean metre eating Props that we need :deadhorse:

I agree, make a decision, and get on with it.
do not leave clubs with false hope, that you may play for them, only to keep them hanging on.
if he mucks around longer than end of this week, withdraw the offer, and tell him bad luck, we could not wait for you.

i was really excited about possibly signing him but im losing so much respect for him i dont care anymore. He says he wants to stay living with his family here but in the next sentence says he would also like to live in Wales, South Africa, France, Japan. Is there anyone else trying to get him? Pakistan rugby perhaps?

Im over it. But i do still think we would be favourites to sign him, hence why Gallant left.

He will convince someone he is Andrew Symonds half brother and sign a big money deal to the IPL

Hasn't Lote made up his mind yet….....what he wants to do....... :unamused:

The club should make up its own mind and just drop out of the race….tell the thruth i dont think that we have been at all in with a chance of signing him.
We just needed to show other players that we can chase the big guys and not be scared. Our talks with him have been nothing but "how is life going chat".
No money has been discussed.
Somebody who is selling himself to the biggest bidder where ever in the world, is not the type of player we need to be spending our time pursuing.
