Yep, I am officially over him. Don't want him at the club at all now. He needed a committed off-season with us to be anything in our game.

I would agree with Hbom. Not only is he playing a sport he hasn't played in 7 years, he is also expected to play a completely new position at fullback.

IMO, If anyone needs an off season to prepare, its him.

The club reads EVERYTHING that goes on in here..

And Im sure they take most of it with a grain of salt.

Surely 50 odd barely saine league tragics arent going to have to much affect.

LOL simon they would get laughed at more like it.

50 or 100 no effect and neither it should

The club for years used it's official forum to keep negativity at a low. It really surprised me when the forum wasn't part of the picture when they launched the new website as they now can't control people's views/posts.

On Lote, I would of thought a off season playing Union would be beneficial to him and the Wests Tigers (if he signs) considering he hasn't had a hit out for a while now.

Because his move to union in England shows he is not interested in preparing for a 2010 Wests Tigers Premiership. At his age, he is no longer a one-man wrecking ball with pace. He would only prove useful if he formed combos with the other players over the off season, and shared some of his experience and showed leadership. It just doesn't sit well when a player wants the bucks but not the commitment of a long hard off-season.

maybe its the last off season he can do this before he signs with us. this could be a possibility. Once he signs with us no more off seasons abroad. I think Lote is worth it. The media exposure he gets wherever he may be in the world speaks for itself. The guy is a movie star. If you sign him they will come.

Very well said mate.

This is the same Tuqiri who said "I miss Origin, I want to play it again". When he said that, I thought "hey, okay, here's a bloke who'll be tearing it up all pre season and busting his nuts to get back to elite level".

What a joke though. The moment he smelt the $$$ abroad, he was off to the UK.

He was paid out by the ARU. He got 2 years salart +….......around a million $. He's already a multi.

And he still cha$e$ the $. It's all the bloke cares about.

Meanwhile, there will be young Tigers busting their nuts all through Steve Folkes torture sessions for $70 000 a season.

Lote wants to cruise back home and pick up $400 000 to play 3/4 of a season and people are okay with that because he "makes the papers". What a joke.

Its a two way street, Lotte is also taking a big risk, he gets injured playing rugby and we walk away from him. Or may be the kid who gets the gig as no1 has absolute blinders in the preseason and the early season games and the club decides to put the cheque book back in the safe. Their cant be a legal contract as under the NRL laws its ilegal to hold two contracts.

Like a lot of others from a football point of view I thinks the whole thing has dragged on way to long and for a 30 year old footballer who is not a playmaker or a frontrower is a bit crazy.

Agree with most of the above critical comments on Lote, but…if hes prepared to sign a 3 year deal with us after his Rugby stint(& its a BIG if),that means no more Rugby & his future is settled. He wont be the gamebreaker of the mid 2000s,but a a Wendell type player hopefully & lend size & experience to a young backline.
If its simply a 3/4 season "cameo" appearance in 2010 then the distraction of his coming & going &" wots he gonna do next" is of no short or long term benefit to WT

Yeh he might sign with us, but he won't be commited. The guy goes overseas to chase the $ whilst guys like Mullaney, who should be playing regular first grade IMO, will be busting there asses at Pre-season training, knowing if Turqiri signs, he ain't got a hope in hell of playing in that number 1 injuries permitted. Yeh he's good for some media exposure, sure but he isnt the player he once was, and this competition aint about who can have the most media exposure, it's measured on where you are on the table. Turqiri won't bring anything special, he's in his 30's who IMO doesn't want to be here! Mullaney on the other hand, heck after the season he had last year, he deserves to play week in week out First grade because we need to hold onto this kid, he will be one of the greats.

Turqiri, we don't need you and stop playing us around!!

so you dont think him playing union in the off-season will be useful for match fitness. Surely plaing on a weekly basis and being involved in on-season training for Leicester should be very good for his conditioning.

What I dont get is why people have reacted this way now. The club indicated a month ago it would be prepared to let him play union in the off-season. Why the reaction now? No one pretended that Lote wouldnt be playing union in the off-season if he signed with us.

I cant blame a guy for making a bit of money whilst he can. As a footy player he only has limited life-span. Cant really see Lote moving into media. Good on him for looking after his family IMHO. How does it show he isnt interested in playing with us in 2010? It shows nothing of the sort and those kind of statements are just dribble. All it shows is that he wants to play rugby in the off-season - nothing more, nothing less. If Benji was permitted to play rugby in Japan in the off-season would that indicate he didnt want to play with us in 2010? Of course, it doesnt. The question of whether Lote wants to play with us will be determined by whether he joins us, not because he wants to earn some money and have experience while he can.

What people dont understand is that Lote playing union in the off-season has provided us with the chance of getting and has reduced the amount we would need to pay him. Good bit of business in my view.

Top post Southerntiger… i think people need to get down of their high horse. Also you make a good point about his conditioning... if anything I'd say he'd be more than fit when he comes over. Union isn't as physically demanding as League is, so I think he'll be fine when he comes over and throws on the black, orange and white.

Although it's okay for a player to sign a new NRL contract before his existing NRL contract has expired. One of the most stupid things allowed in the game. It's ridiculous that the big sports over in the USA can avoid this type of stuff but the NRL can't.

Fellas, which part of this quote makes you think he is coming to play for us? Honestly, how does "I am looking into the Fiji thing" make you blokes think he's coming to play for us?

**"There is no deal with Wests. I'm looking into the Fiji thing. I think the rule is coming where you can play for a second country as long as it's a Tier Two nation.''**

The International Rugby Board has yet to tackle that, but the Pacific Island countries are mounting a passionate case that could be timed perfectly for Tuqiri, 30, to play for Fiji at the 2011 World Cup.

Top post ST…...I couldnt agree more.

Thank Oprah someone can talk with some sense on this issue.

Its so funny people believe the media when they want to, depending on what theyre saying.
Even funnier some writing others views off as nonsense.
Some respect please.

CNX thats a different issue. As I stated previously, we dont agree on this issue. There is no point further discussing whether he will come or not. Time will tell.

The other issue is whether we want him to come. Personally I do.

Personally I hope Loti does turn out for the club. I believe he will be as big a draw card for the club as Benji is, which can't be a bad thing ?

Also, I am over all the fuss and press and god knows what else. Both Sunday papers had conflicting stories as have so many called 'people in the know' on this forum too.

If he decides to stay in the UK and play Union would I care, frankly no, if he turned out to play AFL for the Gold Coast would I care no, 2 ex tossers from the Broncos chasing the $$$ would be about right if he did play.

I think he will play for the Wests Tigers but but as there are so many caviets around nothing will be said until next year at best. Is this good for the club if he joins a few months into the season, no, it would smack of total arrogance if he waltz's in and takes some poor buggers position who trained there all off season. This is what would annoy me more that he has not been part or the team during the pre season build up. Hopefully he will come back match fit which is good.
