Not Quite…......nothing official yet Poppa........Sheens has been know to fib.......

Plus there is all the speculation on who's spot the great Lortay will waltz in and take....... :sign:

He can waltz in and play where ever Sheens wants him to as far as Im concerned.

Im super pumped about him coming, centre or FB seem a good fit to me.

One thing for sure, the backline is gonna be HUUUUUUGE!!!! Some big boppers from 1-5…...IMO lack of size out wide has really hurt us!!!

For mine it depends what stage of the season he comes back to us. If the season has already started than I would be filthy with the decision to let him "waltz" in.
Remember this bloke will be unproven at this level for 7 years and wont have undertaken the Folkes pre season that the rest of the side is currently being smashed by. Let alone the fact that he wont have any combinations with our playmakers etc…

If he shows up late he starts on the bench....at best.

Nope…....It's Lote.....his name alone gets him a start at the expense of bloke who has been busting the arse since November 2009.....

Your gunna play a superstar off the bench.......... :deadhorse:

Mate he hasnt been a superstar for years have you managed to catch him playing over the past few seasons?
The blokes a winger - not a superstar footballer…..

Oh….....sarcasm is lost on you.......

That's just it he's a Winger...yet he's gunna slot sraight back in to Rugby league after 7 years....... People calling for him to play fullback or centre with a team he wouldn't even know half their names...let alone who they are or how they play.......

At his best he was a winger on the end of 1 of the greatest club backlines in history.......

Oh well he'll be great for publicity and off field sponsorship........

That is my opinion of the great Lote as well, superstar my ass,he was once, but that time has passed,he is a winger, and should be used as such.

Way too much noise out there implying hes coming to suggest otherwise, subject to him not picking up a serious injury with the rahrahs.
Club season over there finishes as late as June if team makes finals, but Lote was supposedly recruited as a back up to the international reps,as & their International season finishes mid March he may be back sooner rather than later again subject to injuries to key rep players.
Lotes too expensive to sit out on our wing,& his high ball skills refined in Rugby plus the extra room to move should make him a solid NRL full back.
I havent seen Lote play a truly outstanding Rugby game in several seasons(I think hes past his peak,& definitely lost speed),so am not expecting superstar performances but it wld be nice to have someone in no 1 jersey who has the size to break the first tackle occasionally. If so,it frees up Moltzen for no7 where hes best suited
On paper backline looks great for next season, but u can bet it will take a while for Lote to settle, the significant injuries to both big wingers will impact their seasons,& can Benjis recent injury free run contnue to defy gravity….?

Tuqiri deal one step closer

Going to be a Tiger … sacked Wallaby Lote Tuqiri is expected to sign on with the Wests Tigers NRL club. Source: The Daily Telegraph

THE NRL's worst-kept secret is likely to become reality before Christmas, with dual international Lote Tuqiri finally on the verge of inking a deal with Wests Tigers.

Tigers coach Tim Sheens yesterday gave a none-too-subtle hint Tuqiri - currently playing UK rugby - would sign within the next two weeks.

"We're fairly close to sorting that out,'' he said. "I would like to think [CEO] Steve [Humphreys] will give me a Christmas present.''

The Daily Telegraph understands Tuqiri will commit to a three-year deal, complete with options to play UK rugby during the off-season to supplement his NRL contract. Sheens met Tuqiri numerous times before he left Australia, where the duo discussed his preference to return to rugby league at fullback.

It was just a matter of time before Tuqiri put pen to paper. Having said that, I hope he still has what it takes to play NRL week-in week-out.

He'll b fine, Lote is a specimen, an absolute freak, if fat arse dell could do it - and go alright - Lote will carve up, especially from fullback. He'll get plenty of ball. Who would you kick too, HAHAH!!!! This is great news. It is definitely the ideal xmas present for sheens!

remember back in October when people on here were saying that the leaking onto this forum that Lote had held meetings with the club had ruined our chances of signing him….
then remeber that people here started to abuse the living daylights out of those users who leaked the info that we had got him...

the fact is that anderson was correct and Lote had agreed to a deal

makes those people look silly, doesn't it

Hmmmm interesting stuff regarding playing overseas while still contracted with the club… I thought the NRL was adamant that any money made from contracted players playing overseas would be added to the salary cap of their contracted club.

Stuff the NRL,I am against it,he will need every bit of training and rest to hopefully get back into league, yet this seems to indicate he will get neither,I was against the decision to sign him before, now I am convinced I was right.
Why do we need our so called superstar playing off season rugby, bloody ridiculious.

I guess this now opens the door for Benji to do something similar ?
