there is no cryptic about it. But no, he wont be around in the fist round…...

So why not just say what round they are expecting him back?

Cause they don't know the answer….Tuiaki's break was a pretty bad one......got a feeling we won't see the big fella until well into the season.....

A Perth Reds union bloke, name eludes me, had a similar break to Tui.....mid 2008....played 2 games last year and hopes to be back this season.....

Thanks Geo, english for a change :smiley:

Here's hoping Geo. T-REXX reckoned they'll announce it late Jan so he could be close to the money on this one if bec and buzz have solid info on this.

I really think some people on this forum have got to take a long hard look at themselves. For years and years all that has happened is the bagging of our recruitment. When the club takes it upon themselves to go after, and by the looks of it successfully sign, one of the biggest names in any football code, and one of the best athletes in the country, they continue to complain about it. Sure its not ideal if he can't play till round 6, but surely you would rather have him for the other 19 rounds than not at all, particularly when you are saying that his replacement is Rhys Prichard for the whole year! Nothing against Rhys, he definatley has the talent and potential to play first grade, but when you have a choice between him and one of the best outside backs in the game, its surely a no brainer! I compliment the club on their work on this, when they have beaten money flashing rugby clubs in france for Lote's signature, they have to be highly commended.

Eh, I don't really mind that he'll walk straight into the team mid-year, ahead of blokes who've "busted their ass in the pre-season".. you put your best players on the field.

TUQUIRI WILL MAKE UP FOR LOST GAMES BY LEADING US TO THE FINALS AND BEYOND!! :righton:

Lote Tuquiri brings to the Wests Tigers:

* Experience
* Excitement
* Exposure

He also brings incredible skill and strength. **GUYS GET OVER IT….......LOTE IS A TIGER!!**

Some of you people on the Forum need a reality check. For the past four years, you have been complaining (Quite rightly) about the attempts to sign some top quality players.
Now, the Club has signed a top quality player like Loti, you are whinging.
I can just imagine the whinging, if the Club refused to allow him to come back for round 6 and as a result, he signed with the ….. the...... the....... Rorters! This thread would be at 200 pages in a few hours.
Loti will add much to the Club and the team both on and off the field!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Top post!! Couldnt agree more with what you said here matty119 and I for one am stoked that we have attracted someone of Lote's calibre to play with our team, sure it isn't ideal but he is all class and a superb athlete that will excel in our backline and with our style of play.

THe recruitment department is damned if they do and damned if they don't, can never seem to keep our fans happy. We just need to accept it isn't ideal and get on with supporting our team and when Lote is here, settled and giving our backline more sting we will see what people on this forum are saying then.

HaHaHa…what makes people think Lortay is going to come back into Rugby League after 7 years and slot straight back in...in a position he's never played before even if he starts on the wing........cause he's a good athelete....cause Sailor did it.......incredible skill and strength....great exposure off the field......

Look I hope all you guys are right....and Lote turns out to be the second coming that helps us to Grand Final glory...I'll gladly come on here and eat humble Pie....I also hope Marshall remains injury free and Farah continues to develop his leadership and steps up when the crunch is on.....

Doesn't mean people can't have different opinions of a players worth..just as we do with Ryan, Gibbs, Fulton or Fitzhenry......it's not whinging.......It's a difference of opinion.......

i think people are going to be dissapointed if we dont make a GF.. people are talking as if we aer going to do it..
for me making the 8 is all im hoping for at this point.. taking one step at a time

TRoy

Of course I'll be dissapointed if we don't make the Grand final…......no different to any other year........

I'ts what they play for isn't it!!!!!!!!

i know but people are thinking Lote is the answer to winning it… and its not... we havnt made the semis for 4 years..and then they expct to win first go?... first up is to make the 8.. after that we win the GF... after all we have never lost a semi and 100% success rate :wink: hehe

I've heard several so called experts in the media tipping us as premiers, granted one was a bit biased in Blocker, but the others were all as neutral as can be.

Lot's proven nothing just yet…some here are rightly are cautious, i'm sure we all here want all our new recruits to be succesful, fact is our history shows most of our recruits have been less than succesful.

Looking hard at myself…............ done, My main gripe with his signing is Lote rocking up in round 6 so he can earn the coin in England, if he was serious about a strong return to league you would think he would want a full pre season with the boys and start round 1.
Im sorry guys I think he is taking us for a ride, I will also eat a large slice of humble pie because I hope I am wrong.
Also I compliment Wests Tigers recruitment on Jasons signing I heard he is keen as for round 1 after his full pre season!

LOTE hasn"t played league in 7 years, is 30 years old, and can't tackle, Not to mention he'll miss the first 6 rounds of the comp..imo money wasted on a mystry bag..

In the Payten thread it was mwentioned that we wouldlt have " Tuquiri until round 6,"

Is this the general understanding.

I recall it being said that the Rugby stint would be cut short to coencide with the start of the 2010 NRL season….

I think that some people are being a bit too harsh on Lote in regards to his rugby stint. There is a lot of talk about 'if he was serious about a return to league he'd be here in round 1', but realistically, if he doesnt take the stint in England, then we dont have the money to get him. If Lote was really all about the money he wouldn't bother about a return to league because he could get payed a hell of a lot more for much less work playing rugby all around Europe, or possibly in Asia. I think that players have a lot more personal pride in their performance than many fans give them credit for. I dont like the cynicism, but I guess we will just have to live with it, and it will be all the more enjoyable for all Tigers fans when he tears up through the rest of the season.

I hope he does tear up Matty119 , do you see my point though about him not having a pre season with the rest of the team?
I was excited about his signing until I started reading he is gonna start round 6!

Lote is a gun player. Always has been.
He may have lost a bit of pace but he'll still kill it when he returns. I have no doubts about that.
