There are direct quotes from Tuqiri. Can't be all hot air.

I'm sick of the guy. I really don't want him here any more. We have so much depth in the wingers anyway. Spend the money on upgrading contracts to free up the cap so we can sign a more dedicated marque player next year.

who said.. papers can make up quotes u know..

im telling u its hot air…

Can they really?
I dont think so.

It was pleasing to see him having a good game at seven. He has been criticised by some of our ‘so called fans’.

That was a 'so called quote' from Tim Sheens…

This whole thread is hot air…

Lote is a businessman near the end of his career.

If he isn't injured at the end of a UK Rugby stint and if there is nothing better he will return to the NRL. He hasnt signed anything lets remember.

Its not the end of the world if he doesnt get to Concord nor the Dawn of a new era if he does.

General rule is dont beleive Newspapers or Forums (However the latter helps the working day to pass)

Hey guys,

Pretty much the same article as yesterday, replicated in the telegraph…

Lote Tuqiri may turn back on Wests Tigers

* From: AAP
* January 21, 2010 12:00AM

LOTE Tuqiri has hinted he may extend his stay in English rugby.

The former Wallabies winger flagged the possibility of turning his back on a high-profile return to the NRL in favour of relative "anonymity" at Leicester, where his current contract expires in March.

"In the past I have only thought about my footy career but there comes a time when you have to think of family a lot more," said Tuqiri, whose four-year-old son has started school in England.

"They are enjoying it over here. We are from Australia and our roots are there, but we have entrenched ourselves here and it's not too bad being away from home.

"I have a bit more anonymity and being out of the limelight has opened my eyes to a different world. I have never spent this much time with the family and I am enjoying it."

His comments follow reports the 30-year-old former Brisbane Broncos player will join Wests Tigers in a league comeback this year.

Tuqiri moved to Leicester with his wife and two sons in November after the Australian Rugby Union terminated his contract last July.

Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: "I'd like Lote to stay. Everyone raised their eyebrows when we signed him, but he has settled in well."

Earlier this month, Tuqiri said he hadn't ruled out a move to French rugby.

Off Season - Not much happening so lets regurgitate overseas crap and hope no one notices….

50 days to go...

Starting to care less and less about Lote. Don't want someone comin into the club that doesn't want to put 110% in. Stay there and be forgetton, if that's what you wish Lote.

That was a 'so called quote' from Tim Sheens…

LOL….so called.

Sheens had our old CEO - HIS very own boss made redundant/removed/terminated.
If what you say is correct, do you think the media man would risk his neck fabricating a direct
quote putting crap on fans from Sheens himself..?

-----------------------------------

To everyone else, on the topic of Loti - disregard any media, disregard so- called inside garbage posted here...I suggest wait for an official word from the club - nothing more. Then and only then can u be 100% certain.

**“That’s an extremely fabulous stat. It is typical of John’s professionalism and his durability. ‘Bam Bam’ is his nick-name and he plays that way accordingly,’’ Sheens said.**
>
“John is very professional, does the right thing, and looks after himself.
>
“It was pleasing to see him having a good game at seven. He has been criticised by some of our ‘so called fans’. John has been a great utility for us and filled in at every position bar front-row.

Look at the whole 'QUOTE'…..**that's what Sheens said**.......the rest is the interviewers add on.......Journalism 101.....

Why would he repeat what he said in the second sentence.._“John is very professional, does the right thing, and looks after himself_..he already said that..

it wasn't an interview and if it was it wouldn't be so formally written…..It's not how you talk especially in house...

I'm not saying Sheens didn't say it.....but I can't see Sheens using those words........_He has been criticised by some of our ‘so called fans’_ so I think their Cousins......out of spite.......

People often repeat themselves.
It doesnt matter if it was an interview or not…..looks more like Cousins has taped the post match media conf from the last game last year, and used selected bits in a story on J Mo & others

Quotation marks are called quotation marks for a reason.

I think their Cousins......out of spite.....

Big call...very unprofessional if true. I doubt it.

Here's a link to the Leicester Tigers Suppoters Forum…..most keen to see Lote stay

So now it's a cut and paste by Cousins …off what was said on that final game......OK

So when did Sheens use the Words...'so called fans'...at the media confrence after the game or was that one on one with Cousins in the shed....or the next day when the article was being written......?

It's just what I think....Sheens is smart enough to know words like that can only alienate fans....I doubt he would have said it in that way that's all.....not a big call.....I don't think their his words....I think it's the Journalist's interpretation of what was said how's that......

Oh...what do you think of Lote with that news Alad........Coming or staying......

Sheens used those words on national TV in a post game sideline interview. Can;t remember what game but it was late in the season.

Interesting to see the leicester fans. obviously this thread is by different fans to the thread posted a while ago that called lote old and slow?

This article appears to say that it's all just "hot air", nothing more

Aussie ace Lote Tuqiri could stay on at Leicester Tigers
Wednesday, January 20, 2010, 08:00
Leicester Tigers' hopes of keeping hold of Australian Test winger Lote Tuqiri have taken a dramatic U-turn.
>
The 30-year-old veteran of 67 internationals for the Wallabies seemed set to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season because of the financial implications of trying to keep the marquee player on their books.
>
Tigers head of operations Simon Cohen said in mid-December: "We would like to keep Lote because he is a world-class player. But he was brought in as an injury allowance under the salary cap as a replacement for Geordan Murphy for a certain period of time.
>
"If that dispensation is not available for next year, it is going to be very difficult to find the money to keep him."
>
However, Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill revealed yesterday that Tuqiri, who joined Tigers in October, is enjoying his time at the club so much that the financial side of any deal might not now be such a stumbling block.
>
"I would like Lote to stay and he has settled in really well," said Cockerill.
>
"He would be quite keen to sit down with us and see if that is a possibility.
>
"All indications, from everybody's point of view, are that it won't be a financially-driven thing. His family are very happy here and he is very happy here. He will have interest from all over the place because there are clubs who will pay more money than us, but he sees the value in the structure."
>
Cockerill also said for the first time that Tuqiri's contract at Tigers runs until the end of March, giving the winger the option of a return Down Under for the start of the Aussie Rugby League season.
>
But he said the Tigers were keen to sit down soon and offer Tuqiri the option of an extended stay at Welford Road.
>
"We will see what happens," said Cockerill.
>
"There is a long way to go and we have to fit it in within the salary cap.
>
"But the indications are that he will make a rugby decision and a family decision rather than a financial one, which says a lot about the set-up and infrastructure here."
>
Tuqiri, who has started 10 consecutive games since his debut as a substitute against South Africa, said he was really getting into the swing of things.
>
"The way we have been playing over the last month has been pretty invigorating," he said.
>
"We have been scoring tries, getting a few bonus points and I have enjoyed it.
>
"We (my family) have our roots in Australia but it's not been too bad being away from home.
>
"If I am thinking about it (a new deal), that should be another two or three years away so I guess I will have to start thinking about that soon."

I never mentioned anything about cut n paste, you seem to know just what it is.

```text
it wasn't an interview and if it was it wouldn't be so formally written.
```

Its very clear its after last years final game. Read it again.
Its a very very big call a media man attributing his own opinion and hiding it behid the coaches words….but you believe in watever you believe in Geo, I'll go on wats in front of me

Do you think journos add their interpretation of what was said to statements from Prince William, KRudd, Obama etc?

Sheens is smart enough to know words like that can only alienate fans

Wouldnt the media man then be smart enough to know this - if it is his own opinion like you think - would only alienate himself from his bosses? He'd be likely sacked.
