4k for costs ?? C'mon. That would be first class accom. Does England have a Formulae1 hotel or equivalent ? More the Wests Tigers style.

that, except with lote's signature on a contract and Humph instead of Chamberlain, stepping off a qantas plane

"There shall be Lote in our time"

I just saw 7 News and the troubles they're having with their overseas flights and maintenance.
If Humph flew Jetstar, he might be gone for the first 10 rounds!!

I wonder if he'll take a commemorative ballpoint with him?
Maybe the marketing guys are already onto it.

For some reason Im reminded of the sheet of photocopied autographs they handed out at the GF open training.

LMAO…...I still got that hanging around somewhere........

Um …er..one cld argue its a total waste for our CEO to fly business class to the UK regardless..!
Its gonna cost close to $20k to get his signature on a piece of paper, which will or wont happen regardless of the CEOs physical presence..money that cld be spent on promising juniors
Hmmmm

in any case unless someone sat next to him on the plane, how do we know he flew business class. Plus he used to be a high level executive at Qantas and British Airways - anyone thought that maybe he got the flight for next to nothing.

Just saved $20k - and gets the signature - good deal in my opinion.

In saying this, it wasn't a done deal in October like some hhave said and still isn't from my contacts, this trip is to actually put the final pieces together and agree to final terms i have been informed.

And as i said before and i am still confident, he will be back for Rd 1.

Will he come straight into first grade though or will he have a couple of weeks in reggies and then play his first match for west tiges in the game against Parra - that would be a big crowd - Hayne v Lote

Son of "Big Kev" worked for both qantas and British Airways in senior postions, he is probably flying on a freebie!!!!

He'd probably have a gazillion frequent flyer points too!

do you guys seriously think he'd fly economy for one of the longest commercial flights in the world???

i'm sorry, he'll be in business lapping up the extra few inches and laptop power point

And the skybed. Those things are awesome! In other words he'll be where you'd expect the CEO of an organisation that takes itself seriously would be and making sure he is rested and looks professional when he arrives.

where have all the lote baggers gone now??? everyone has stopped bagging him because it really REALLY looks like he is coming to the tigers this time, for real! lol

soo all the baggers start on our CEO, serioussly if you were a CEo would you fly economy at the back of a plane for over 20 hours feeling uncomfterable when you are about to sign prob one of the biggest profile players that will ever wear a WESTS TIGERS jersey? C'mon stop being so harsh on the CEO who i think has done so well in under 12 months (think about how many positives he has done for the club since being in the spot?) we wanted big name signings ( that includes Folkes) and we got what we asked for, what are we all worried about now?? THIS GUY WILL MAKE THE TIGERS A POWERHOUSE IN THE YEARS TO COME!!

My point was that if CEO really needs to fly internationally of course he should be entitled to business class seating & a decent pub/restuarants befitting of his status etc…& I can assure you the old dart doesnt leave much change from $20 big ones for such a trip..
But in todays age of modern telecommunications & supposed post GFC austerity Im not sure this investment in time & money is justified unless Humphries/ physical presence on the other side of the world is critical to push Lote over the line.
It feels more like an expensive foto opportunity for the press..but having said that,Humphries has impressedso far so maybe a little boondog junket is deserved every now & again..!

Lote probably won't be the only point on Humphreys' agenda. I doubt he'd fly all that way & not take the opportunity to do other business. Reccruitment is an on-going activity & I'd hope Humphreys is begining the process of wooing our next UK import. After all, by all reports Sam Burgess was finally nabbed by Souths when Russell Crowe flew to England to shout Sam a large feed over a lengthy chat.

I think $12-13k is more like it unless he's staying for a week. And like I said before, it's a tax write off.

But what are you suggesting? That we just fax over a contract or mail it over?

Seriously… this is what it has come to?

Who cares? The bloke is our CEO and has to represent the club accordingly.

Expensive photo opp? So what... it will give the club great exposure and as a result... our membership will spike.
