Lucci's try

We could have challenged it but it didn't look very likely that he had scored so there wasn't a point in wasting a challenge. What they should have done is held down the tackled player and got the ref to check the play beforehand. Might not have worked but then at least the pressure would have been on the bunker.

Yep I think you could have challenged. Technically you are just challenging decision of 20 metre re-start to the Warriors.

When it is awarded "20 metre re-start" Luc yells out "challenge it" at least twice - I'm not sure bunker gives it a try though because they love to back the ref

I also think Luc going for the nonchalant try celebration didn't help - If he sold it a bit more I think ref goes upstairs

You can’t challenge it because a 20m restart is a quick tap and not a stoppage. The ref should have checked it as it was a try scoring situation and the player was adamant they scored. By not sending it up he just made himself look useless and should cost him a first grade spot

Sheer incompetence from match officials no doubt to be followed by a lame apology from the NRL or some attempted justification for what was a patently lousy call by referee and bunker not to review. These fools couldn't run a kids chocolate wheel.

BREAKING: The NRL has admitted it was "the wrong call" for the referee to ignore sending a possible Wests Tigers try to the Bunker.

PEN PINEAPPLE - PINEAPPLE PEN..

NRL head Graham Annesley has conceded it was “the wrong call” for referee Ziggy Przeklasa-Adamski to ignore sending a possible Wests Tigers try to the Bunker.

The refereeing howler prompted Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire to fume post-match that the call was “ridiculous” and a “game changer.’’

The potential four-pointer came in the first half with the Tigers and Warriors locked at 6-all and could have proved the difference in the Tigers 16-12 loss on Friday night.

The potential try came from a Luke Brooks grubber into the in-goal, which Leilua came desperately close to grounding millimetres inside the dead-ball line.

Inexplicably, Przeklasa-Adamski opted against checking the possible try with the video referee.

After speaking with NRL referees boss Jared Maxwell on Saturday morning, Annesley said the call was “wrong”.

“He (Przeklasa-Adamski) thought he saw it clearly and made a judgment call,’’ Annesley said.

“He didn’t think it was as close as what it ultimately turned out to be.

“He thought he was in a good position, had a clear view of it and made the call.

“He was wrong. He should’ve referred the decision, he didn’t refer to it and we’ll never know what decision the bunker would’ve made.

“But that doesn’t in any way detract from the fact that should’ve been referred to.

“By no means am I trying to justify it, but he’s only in his third game as a single referee, but the only way people get experience is to bring them into play – much like a player.

“He’s going to learn a pretty hard lesson out of this, a self-inflicted lesson because he’s doing it quite tough this morning, knowing full-well he’s made the wrong call.

“I know that is no consolation to anyone that is a Tigers official, fan or player, but he realises his error.

“No one goes out there trying to make errors.’’

The only answer, sadly, is . . . . . shit teams don't matter.
If it was Storm or Roosters . . . firstly they wouldn't have a 3 game rookie doing their games, secondly, they'd be bleating their heads off and would get some sort of favourable outcome.
We get this muppet ref yesterday and will get murdered in the 50/50s next week just for good measure.
I threw my empty bottles at the TV every time they referred any miniscule and irrelevant decision after the try.
Shit teams don't matter.
It's like the lone middle aged white man at a gender neutrality rally.
He counts for nothing.

Is that lesson going to be your not ready and sent make to reserve grade? When I refereed that’s how it worked, you went up a grade and mistakes cost you staying there

I still can’t believe he didn’t refer it, that try changes the whole game. When you’re struggling things often compound this one will hurt for a while.

The South’s game a couple years ago with the abomination of a finish incl. several calls leading up consisting of CLEAR knock-ons; balls rolling around on the carpet, with the referee completely welcoming Burgess and Trelly boy to end up crashing over and seemingly knock the ball on in attempts to ground it, before calling play on and leaving Brooksy on his way for the prize… was the second time we have lost due to this and my question being was there still an onus on one of the NRL’s most 'competent' refs to put us all back down on the seat of our pants and fully (and correctly) using the extent of his powers as an official, end our chances?

This Adamski should never see the light of a first grade rugby league stadium ever again. Disgrace.
