Um if we arnt looking for a halfback then we'd be silly. Wakeham isn't first grade. He never plays direct nor does he attack the line. He passes two metres before the line. Whatever fault Brooks has it isn't running.

Let’s be honest, Wakeham is pretty mediocre but he gives us a right side kicking option and a goalkicker( he’s actually pretty reliable even though he missed a couple).
The real key is to see that sort of input from Brooks, on a regular basis.

Agree. Tbh if Wakeham could improve his defence he’d be okay. Decent kicking game, not too many brain explosions but gee his tackling can be poor…

I think he could probably do with a little sprint training as well as the tackle bags . Very slow off the mark but could be sharpened up a bit.
Part of his defensive problem is the speed to get in the right position.

You can't criticise someone who kicks 2x 40-20s and defended like he did. Last tackle options were still clunky but actually had the smarts to kick the shit outta the ball dead with 30secs to go, to basically end the game.
He deserves some respite.

I think tonight's game was the best game I have ever seen him play, 2 40/20s much better kicking game in general, I will give credit where credit is due. The test will be next week to see if he and the team can back tonight's effort up.
