Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

The point was that if Brooks wants out it's all on him and we pay nothing as we just yeah c ya cancel your contract and Hondo what you want

Mbye we had no option as he would've stayed just to get his money but we wanted him gone so we payed some of his contract
doesn't work like that though we either pay Brooks contract out or we don't just like mmbye and Dragons
no point telling Brooks his contract is void as it is not going to happen

Think I’d consider Jacko at HB when he returns from suspension. Just tell Brooks to concentrate more on running. Mind you if our forwards play like that it doesn’t matter who our creative players are.
Would we have to swap the numbers...

Like every single player on Sunday, Brooks was not good. That said and further to your point above, the ridiculous commentary on performance began from the first set of the match, some absolutely absurd regarding Brooks.

After our forwards got WT to the point where the last tackle kick was taken some 18 metres short of halfway and into a strong headwind. It was caught just outside the red Newcastle 20 metre line despite the stiff breeze.

A 45 metre gain in such conditions was about the best to hope for and should have been applauded, yet it was described as garbage as the knives came out early to start proceedings. WT were owned from the kick-off and up until late in the match.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. There are many things in Luke’s game that you could fairly criticise, but some of the things I see him criticised for here are ridiculous.

Part of me hopes he ends up a Newcastle. If Clifford can look decent there Brooks will kill it.

Let’s just move the guy on so we can decide once and for all if Brooks is useless or it’s just being in a crap side.

The bloke has had every different type of personality in the halves with him. Has had different forwards running off him and different backs to set up. The only thing that hasn’t changed has been Luke, he hasn’t changed the way he plays or any facet of his game.

like in 2018 when he was Dally m halfback of the year and for the first time in his career had an actual coach who could coach in cleary

Luke cops a lot because so much was expected.
Next Joey Johns and all that. he has not shown a glimpse of Joeyness.
Hype happened to Luke he has to accept that.

That’s 4 years ago now. He should have learnt from that season and carried on with it if he’d learnt so much from the coach or did he forget it all when Ivan walked out the door.

Don't you come about here throwing the reality of the situation out and about like that....
