You have no concept of what team sport is BBF

I will give an example. when Twal made the big break a few weeks back Moses backed up and made the try. Who was next in line to get the ball - old man Farah not youngster fastman Brooks. Farah may have been on the old slow North Coast Motor Rail but he was there. In the Doggies game the other day one Morris twin was on the opposite side of the field to his position backing up his bro - he was hungry for the ball. In the middle of the season one game in particular one would not have known that Brooks was on the field. Active players hand around like a bad smell searching for an opportunity, that's it, it is Brooks Brylcream hair lotion and aftershave he does not want to be a bad smell. Give me that pic of Farah looking like a smelly, unshaven, old and dirty skunk any day.

Your belief that Brooks is not seen in support enough is absolutely, categorically, 100% incorrect. It's just factually inaccurate. He is one of the most active support players in the entire competition.

From NRL.com - top five "player in support" totals for the 2018 season:
James Tedesco: 563
Chad Townsend: 562
Michael Gordon: 554
Luke Keary: 514
Luke Brooks: 480

Care to have another go?

He must have been very busy in some games but others you would have to send a search party out for him. It is not only me noticing it. But when he does so many poor grubbers sometimes less is more and more is less.

It's not a question of how many people "notice" it. It's factually incorrect. You have a bias and you're making what you see fit that bias, as is anyone else whose observations don't match reality. You're now trying to change your argument anyway - "oh well maybe he does back up but he's rubbish anyway so I wish he didn't". He's also in the top five for line break assists so he can't be kicking dead that often.

Tl;dr: you're wrong, and demonstrably so, but you won't admit it. Welcome to the internet.

Brooks is also third in the NRL for forced dropouts. So you're wrong about his kicking game as well.

Luke has had a good year behind a pack that was patchy at best.
If we picked apart their performance - like we do with Brooks -against better packs and equate their worth to us, Lawrence is about the only one that would be safe after this years performance.

My position reminds me of playing chess against about a dozen players simultaneously and I have never lost a simul but I don't want to sabotage a thread for an young guy who has won awards so good on him - enjoy.

I think you've been misunderstanding the object of chess all these years…

If we didnt get ripped off by the refs against Brisbane and managed two more wins we wouldn't be arguing about where we sit now
I hope the boys learn from this years results
Just because we beat the top teams doesn't mean we make the finals
We need to lift more against the lesser teams
If we did that we would be talking about this weeks game

You cant point the finger at a couple of players
Every player in our team missed tackles
dropped balls
And bombed try's
It was a collective effort from the team
It was Brooks best year
Hopefully next year he steps up again along with every other player we have

You make some very valid points CT,Im going to put my arguements forward in regard to Luke and others performances this year purely on CONSISTENCY and the lack of..when I say consisteny we have to go right back to the preseason and go from there…we lost Grub who would have been alongside Luke preparing for the execution of gameplans...Grub fails to start the season and Benji comes in,Luke has a different minder so to speak....Liddle our prospective dh gets injured and fails to play for weeks and the swapping week in week out of dh players unsettles the team organisation...Tui our fullback selection performs poorly after injury and we have to swap Corey to cover the FB spot and MWZ comes in...Packer gets injured and barely reaches his reputation for along time...still the team perform admirably, however the shuffling around and introducing debutants takes its toll, along with some very bad ref calls...

The refs calls were the most damaging taking the wind out of the teams sails, particularly the Broncs game..
\
\
Overall the lack of consistentcy in the run on team is what may have contributed to a team being just short of finals footy, they have done well considering and we should accept that they did do well with so many changes week in and week out...

Dame those players making Brooks look bad , a bad tradiie always blames his tools .. maybe next season Brooks can hope those around him on the park pick there game up !

Don't think Brooks has made any excuses all season.

Pretty sure that I stated it at the time, that amongst others, the worst thing about Farah coming back was always going to be bringing BBF back from the burrow with him. I can cop the other stuff and find some interesting, but his worship of Farah is way beyond ridiculous.

Like a good amount of others, I think Brooks is generally better sans Farah and was probably the form half of the competition for the majority of the season.

Imo - Farah has cost him the Dally-M.

Lol.

If it wasnt for Farah, we'd still be playing Elijah Taylor at hooker and running dead last with Parramatta

My post you have quoted shows I have learnt well in chess when to deflect, consolidate, hold fire and live to fight another day. I loved Brooks when he made things click - he was fantastic at times.

Well winning more games is more important than a player winning an individual award. I don't think he would have won many points in mid season when we looked like my escaped chooks running along the McIntrye. And he if learns to kick at 45 degree he might win some more awards. (now don't use this argument against me wanting HRH to play 300 FG games)

And our crowds would be down to zero and zero tv ratings etc etc

In all honestly we'd have probably kept Killa, and be playing against the Dragons this week instead of lamenting another season gone without finals footy.
