Brooks has been great for us this season. The problem for next season is fitting Brooks, Hastings and Doueihi into the team.

I'd be okay with getting rid of Brooks but I'm not sure it's the right decision.

Why not wait until we see how they go next season.

The simplest way I see it is drop Mbye from the team and make Hastings number 14.

Agree completely. Get rid of Mbye and there's plenty of room to have both Brooks and Hastings in the squad.

People used to say Brooks wilted under pressure, but under extreme scrutiny this year he has stood tall and had a very good season. I hope we keep him.

Seems as though we haven’t got any traction on moving MBye on.
Financially it makes sense. Brooks is paid in line with MByes salary but would be more attractive to move on into the market.
There would be clubs willing to pay 3/4s of his salary.
If you have a dominant five eight like Doueihi all Brooks becomes is a shoveler.
Not saying I like it but if Hastings can match Brooks kicking game and defence then it’s a decent swap.

No one likes Mbye. Plus he is lame.

Those getting cut at the end of the year: Packer, Mbye, Leilua and Roberts

The answer is literally as simple as

6. Brooks
7. Doueihi (c)

If no one can see that then god help our club.

Doueihi is a halfback, he can guide the team, he has the confidence to do so, he can lead us around the park.

Brooks needs to take a back foot and chime in when necessary, he isn’t a leader.

Hastings is our no. 14.

Cya later Mbye.

Unfortunately it looks like we are stuck with Mbye for another season, no other club is stupid enough to take him.

I think Roberts would be worth keeping for next year given the coin he is on.

I think 1. Laurie 6. AD 7. Brooks 13. Hastings might actually work quite well.

That’s exactly what I would do. The quickness of the game now means you need a roving playmaker on the field who can go either side of the field and Hastings can play that role. Brooks has actually been really good the last 2 months.

Unless someone is taking mbye and paying atleast half his contract then he’s not going anywhere.

Could Hodgo do us another favour and reunite Mbye with Reynolds?

Its very obvious Chammas has a vendetta against the Tigers lately.

I wouldn't mind meeting this Guy behind the main grandstand @ L.O..

Tigers star shopped to rivals
A Wests Tigers’ star’s time looks to be up with the club reportedly shopping him around despite being locked in on a big-money deal for a further two seasons.

BROOKS ON THE OUTER

For so long it seemed the Wests Tigers would stick by their big-money halfback Luke Brooks. Despite not quite reaching expectations, the 26-year-old has always held his spot in the squad.
However, that looks set to change withThe Sydney Morning Herald reporting the Tigers have made inquiries with rival clubs to see if anyone is interested in the No.7’s services.

Ex-Roosters and Sea Eagles half, Jackson Hastings, will return home from the Super League next season on a two-year deal with the Tigers.

Hastings was said to be signed as a lock, but it seems that’s not the case as the Tigers look to offload Brooks.

Hastings will likely partner Adam Doueihi in the halves in 2022. Doueihi moved back to five-eighth on the weekend after a stint in the centres and proved that it’s the position he belongs in long term.

Doueihi ran for 91 metres and set up five tries and had four linebreak assists in the Tigers’ win over the Broncos on Sunday.

Brooks was also solid with 42 running metres, one try assist, two tacklebusts and one offload, but he was completely outshone by Doueihi.
Brooks was named the Dally M Halfback of the Year in 2018 but has struggled to take control of his side in the last three seasons.

Don't believe anything that comes out of Hoopers mouth.
That guy is nothing but full of shit
It's just another headline the journos wanna brew
They wouldn't be looking to offload after a dominant win
I reckon it's paper talk

On a side note Brooksy must be going OK when it took 25 days for a post to bump his thread..

I agree with this for the most part. My only concern is Hastings defence. I don’t think he’ll be up to Brooks standard in that area of the game.

But we already have Hastings signed, and we already have plenty of free cap space, so even financially I don't get it? I don't think not being able to get rid of Mbye is a valid reason to get rid of Brooks.

Michael Chammas was on 2gb at half time in the the match yesterday when he came out and said the Tigers were shopping Brooks around to a Sydney club

Our defence is our weak link and Brooks is close to our best defender. Seems like a crazy idea, but he has been linked to the Raiders for a few months, so maybe there is some truth. Personally I hope it’s all bull dust and he stays.

Just read the article on Fox Nrl, there is no name attached to the article, except “staff writers” I won’t believe it until I see it happen?

Sounds like old news to me. Hasnt really indicated that it is happening now. Probably happened earlier this year. Typical destabilising article after a win from the boys. Like clockwork from these journos particularly this guy. Would be hard for Brooksy. He is playing well.

we decided to give SMH inside mail with the club rather than DT years ago now Michael Chammas is burning us with article re Madge.
