Brooksy had a good game the angle and shape on the try for Utoikamanu was first class. The kick to Douehi was spot on and his pass to Talau for the break which AJ butchered was brilliant. Kicking was good but he could have stopped two tries which he was left wanting defensively. Talau was the culprit on one of them but his cover was not there.

He’s going to cop it until he repeats a. Solid season backed up by another. 150 games it’s time to stand up. Good start I hope albeit I heard before the game and posted Cowboys May want him and take the salary if Morgan is retired.

No chance you keep him on 850 odd a season.

If someone could take Brooks of our books at full price for 2022, how many fans would be okay with that?

Needs a poll.

I agree lol

Agree that everyone has always wanted Luke to succeed but we can no longer be held back by poor decisions from an experienced player in big games, Luke faces another big test this week and i would love him to play all over the grub moses. Like the idea of Doihui taking responsibility early and allow Luke to work his way into the game and gain confidence But as a 150 game player should this be part of our game plan. Keep up the consistent form Luke week in and week out for your next 150

Question: did Luke Brooks put the intense speculation and media scrutiny behind him and play a better all-around game of football? Yes

Question: did Brooks dramatically improve his kicking choices? Yes

Question: did the rest of the side also hang tougher in attack and defence to make both halves lives easier in key situations? Yes

I don't think we can ask much more of Brooks at this stage. He didn't play great but it was a sure-handed effort and it made the difference. His few runs late in the game got us in a position where his attacking kick was fumbled.

Brooks played a solid game .. (nothing special) .. ***all of his kicks were mid field bombs*** .. he was pretty lucky Shibasaki (from Newcastle) had a shocker all day .. !!

Seriously, did you watch the right game?

All of his kicks were *mid field* bombs? Im glad you noticed Shibasaki had a shocker....I guess we were really ***lucky***, that that happened? Just some stroke of ***luck*** that somehow, someway the footballs gods organised for spiralling kicks to land 10m in from touch, 10m in from the tryline for Shibasaki or Hoy to drop? Just a coincidence that these kicks came off Brooks boot?

And I guess the perfect kick for Doueihi's try was a mid field bomb that slipped off the side of Brooks boot? Got lucky there.

Brooks didnt kick one mid field bomb.

I understand that some people dont like Brooks or want him in the team and that he was poor Rds 1 and 2 but it also frustrates me that there is thread after thread, post after post that WE NEED A GAME MANAGER!!!! and then at the same time when Brooks continually bombs Shibasaki back to the stone age, perfectly in the corner, giving our chasers time to pressure the catcher (LL smashing Hoy) its written off as "mid field bomb".

Good post, could not agree more!

This forum, as in life is filled with good people, fools, idiots, knowledgeable people, wannabe's, ass clowns, you name it. Just learn the usual names and brush past them for the sensible ones. The forum reads much better when you can 'ignore' a couple of people - who mind you are entitled to an opinion - but I just choose to ignore it.

Yeah I pretty much just read the people I agree with. Everyone else has no idea ?

I actually read some I disagree with too. I find it makes me a better person. :smirk:

I just avoid those clearly trolling or those that want to make a comment in an attempt to be heard, no matter how stupid.

hahaha fair play

Much better this week.

Still made some errors and has a lot to prove consistency wise but the emergence of Adam Doueihi will really help him.

Can he stand up the pressure Parra will bring through the likes of Paulo and Brown roughing him up and come out on top of Mitch Moses.

Something he has struggled with!

This week will tell us a lot. He really needs to take it to Moses and better him.

I do not find his defence is the issue he is a pretty good defender for his size .

On another note at least Brooks does not have to hide in defence like theTURD!

I wasnt talking about his defence.

Its his heart, he goes to water when the big boys are charging at him when he has the ball.

Watch a replay of any Roosters game he has played and JWH torments him. Most of his mistakes are on the back of JHW pressure.

Paulo is the next man up who torments him.

he needs to step it up in that kind of situation if he is to ever silence his critics.

Brooks helped setup four tries, two for us and two for them. Definitely an improved performance but ultimately we won because their liability players were far bigger liabilities than ours.

To be fair, Paulo torments whoever Paulo wants to.

Snake,Im of the belief that Brooks isnt afraid of tackling the big boys,he has heart and soul...its his mental fatigue and uncertainty sometimes that fail him...he has to toughen up mentally, play direct and to the plan with no errors...then he will be the guy we want to support and not knock....

There are many legitimate reasons to criticise Brooks, this is not one. Many many occassions where he puts his body in front of big players and pulls them down. He is an above average defender for his size. Physics is physics however.

His partner on that edge needs to play less minutes or work on his reads/anticipation. Leaving gaping holes which is not NRL standard.

Not surprised you didn't understand my post. Hard when youre triggered.

I'm talking about when he has the ball.

Was pretty clear what I wrote.
