So do heaps of players. If Brooks hasn't been able to put consistent seasons in what about Mikaele, Twal, Stefano, Packer, Musgrove, Ofahengaue, Blore and Stefano. Can you imagine how poor we will be if a bunch of these guys don't perform way above the level they have performed in the past.
If we have an ineffective front row we are not going to have a good season.
maybe that will be Brooks' fault too??
That is what I'm trying to say. Brooks needs to play well. He has the ability. He has played well in the past. He wasn't good last season and sure he hasn't really turned into a top 5 half in the comp but I don't think he is the sole reason for us winning or losing.
I mean all we can do is see how we go. We need so many players to perform. What about our outside backs. We need BJ, Roberts, Talau, Nofo and Kepoao to perform consistently. We need at this point Mbye to kill it at fullback.
Interesting season. I reckon getting this team to perform over the season isn't going to be easy.

totally disagree .. Brooks strength is his running game and he should run early and stick defences on the back foot
Like I said, run after defences are worried about our strike weapons outside him. His running game didn’t work this year, teams knew it was coming and shut him down pretty easily.
He did a lot of running but wasn’t creating anything with it majority of the time. He needs to find the balance between the two, it’s his best attribute but he didn’t balance it with his passing game enough. Too easy for defences to read. He can run early too but not too much straight away I think. He didn’t give Luc enough early ball this year
He didn't get any early ball - that makes a big difference in the time you have to do anything. If you get early ball, you have time for a short pass, long pass, kick or beat the man opposite you (you can't do any of that if, when you get the slow ball from the ruck, that guy is standing ready to smash you).
That is the difference between a good DH and a not so good DH.
Plenty of times he had plenty of room and made the wrong decisions. Teams are expecting the dummy and run, they’ve watched plenty of video on him. Having more room consistently will help though as long as he takes advantage of it and isn’t so predictable

You can't dummy and run with the opposition sitting on your shoulder. A good DH makes all the difference.
Hence the win against Manly at Brookvale this year.

You can’t run the ball 95% of the time like he did this year. It’s his strongest attribute but you need to try keep the opposition guessing good service or not. I just think he was told to run but did it too much, needed to use his outside men more too especially Luciano as he’s such a threat close to the line.
Think he’ll improve next year though for sure.

I think, most of the time he had to run because the ball was slow from DH, if he passed - it would be a "hospital pass" to whoever and would get the recipient flattened, so he ran a lot, not necessarily because he wanted to.
I'll be happy to watch in 2021 and see the difference, because there will be quite a differnce to 2020.

Disagree - I did not say give it to the quickest bloke.
If you can't see that the team benefits (in particular the play makers) with a quick PTB and then a quick pass from DH then your expertise has gone down in my estimation.

early ball at a set defence is a waste. As soon as there is a break, tackle bust or offset and the outside backs shoulders turn in.........get it out to fast threequarters.

There is NO hole if there is no early ball!
There will be plenty of early ball for Brooks and AD with Liddle at DH - sit back and watch Hap.
A good half centre pairing create space .....Kevie and Renouf are a great example .....it literally takes minor adjustment ....altering your run from an inside shoulder to an outsidr shoulder .....creating mumbers with wrap arounds
if nothing is on you turn your centre into fresh meat if you give them early ball
if something is on ...hell yeah ..but most occasions you have to create space

As a dummy half (waiting to be jumped on from a great height) Grant is nowhere near as good as Liddle.
Grant has some fine attributes obviously, so too does B. Smith - I am at this stage only talking about service from DH and speed from DH when running - that's what will help Brooks as opposed to this year.

Maybe Sometimes but he was down on confidence and just went to what he knows best which is running. He will need to have more variety to his game next year, having a better forward pack behind him should help more than anything. It’s not like Harry has bad service, he’s got good passing.
Either way Brooks needs a better year. No excuses at all now, he was poor this year. Would be pretty hard not to improve off 3 try assists that’s for sure
We need him to improve along with 90% of the team.

Support them after they create something and you’ll score plenty. As soon as the opposition starts marking them harder start running. Kick to corners and use Roberts speed to get down there.
totally disagree ..
