From the article by Joey and Fittler
The halfback is currently on a four-year contract worth $2.4 million, expiring at the end of 2023.
By my reckoning that’s $600,000 a season?
So where does $850,000 get plucked from?

From Foxsports and the illustrious P Crawly of telecrap fame understands..

Everyone is guessing. I'm going to say the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I re-watched a game from 2018 just now and I couldn't believe what I was watching. That was not the Luke Brooks I watched the last year and a bit. There is a noticeable difference to how he was playing under Ivan compared to Madge.

Under Ivan he played with real tempo to his game, always trying to be one step ahead of the defense and putting them in two minds by running at speed and always having his outside men running and giving options, I almost thought I was watching Luke keary, it really looked like his style of play. He was everywhere and looked to have freedom roaming the park. The variation in his kicking game was a very pleasant scene to watch.

Under Madge he looks to be a lot more structured which seems to be affecting his game quite a bit. He gets to a certain position in the park and thinks he has to do this to get this outcome. I feel as though this affected him because if the defense reacts in a certain way that he doesn't expect, he panics and bottles any chance of getting a result from an opportunity. Really think this is the reason his kicking game specifically has suffered.

Another thing that stood out in his play under Ivan was the amount of short side play, it really suited him because of his speed, it either created an overlap or he got through himself.

I really hope has freedom to go where he wants and have his players give him options. I guess its easy when you have such a great hole runner like Lawrence on your outside, completely different player to Luciano who imo is not a hole runner. I hope Shawn Blore becomes that hole runner, think it will really assist with his game.

He needs a year or 2 in Super league. Win a man of steel or 2 and then have a struggling try to poach him as their saviour despite a poor record in the NRL.

If Hastings comes - I would love to see Brooks in at hooker off the bench. He can defend and his speed when the forwards get tired would be more explosive than Liddle.

Get Hastings and Brooks off to the Cowboys. It would do Brooks the world of good being coached by Payten again.

All I can say Madge is that Brooks was good then, however with the rule changes he and others arent coping...as for a hole runner,Garner did well on that side with Brooks last year...I dont know if Luc is more a run up hard type or line runner ...I dare say hard up the middle...

Happy to say that Brooks was never good.

The fact he got Dally M a few years back still defies belief. What it proves is there is an inherent flaw in the scoring system.

I’ve never seen a player make a living based on their “potential” like this mini version of the Immortal Matt Groat.

Nah, Ben Hunt was washed and then Griffin came along and he looks rejuvenated. Coaches play a considerable role. Ivan got this team clicking. Up to Maguire to replicate that.

Can we stop trying to move ad to centre lol

if it meant we get Adam Reynolds at 7 and Brooks at 6 then AD to centres
or if we got Papenhuyzen at 1 Laurie at 6 Brooks 7 and AD at centre
either way no Joey L next year we need a centre

Pretty sure there were muttering about the possibility of the son coming to WT at the time? Anyway, whatever the motives were for Brooks to play well they no longer exist. A 150 gamer doesn’t kick dead 3 times by accident if all is ok?

Hope the pack give him something to play behind tomorrow because I'm still not convinced that they are going any better than in previous years after seeing the line speed, aggression, and commitment of forwards in other teams so far this round.

Roosters could do with Brooks after their injuries last night. He’d be a much better player in that system

Player swap for Teddy, the Morris twins and Taukeaho

Or they could just take on his massive long term contract?

We’re making a pretty big deal out of a couple of kicks. Prior to this year Brooks has been pretty solid in terms not kicking it dead or throwing wayward cutout passes into the stands.

As long as we have a player that will come in and do better?? Are we capable of achieving that??

I don't believe he is on a massive contact for a half.

Not at the moment. The club should be looking at developing some quality halves or getting what they can on the market but it's not going to be easy.

I just read a Channel 9 WWOS article by Tim Elba with a headline that Luke Brooks’ playing woes are driving his teammates “insane”!!
Ends up that none of his teammates have said anything like that and that quote is basically a twist of the words Fittler and Johns came up with in one if their nonsensical dribblings on.
Really appalling click bait headline that just puts more pressure on the guy - Elba you should be ashamed of yourself!

Gould headline said maybe it’s tigers that’s not good for brooks definitely truth in that statement with how poorly the team has been run at brooks time at the club:
