I thought Potter did a better job than Cleary

I think so too, when you consider he had no cap, bugger all say in anything and had that fraud Grant Mayer constantly on his case.

Would have liked to see what he could of done with the resources that were available for the traitor who managed to squandered them and set the club back a number of years.

There’s only three things stopping Brooks from leaving:
- Brooks doesn’t want to go anywhere
- Madge doesn’t want Brooks going anywhere
- Tigers don’t want Brooks going anywhere
Brooks will be in the halves at Tigers for a while yet without doubt

**Wests Tigers hold meeting with Luke Brooks amid interest from North Queensland Cowboys**

The Wests Tigers have held a sit down meeting with halfback Luke Brooks to ensure the no. 7 the club wants the playmaker to remain at Concord.
Brooks still has this season plus two more at the Wests Tigers but has been heavily linked to the North Queensland Cowboys in the past fortnight.

Brooks, 26, played under 20s for Wests Tigers when Cowboys coach Todd Payten was coaching at the joint venture.

The Tigers spoke to Brooks in the lead-up to their first victory of the season over Newcastle last Sunday to assure the halfback the club wants to retain the local junior long-term.

“We’ve told Luke we believe in him and we want him to remain our halfback,” Tigers general manager of football Adam Hartigan said.

“There’s never been any indication about him wanting to play anywhere else.”

The Cowboys are expected to enter the open market in search of a playmaker with Michael Morgan currently exploring being medically retired.

The move will mean North Queensland is cashed-up and can make a play for an established half.

Current Cowboys no. 7 Jake Clifford has signed with the Newcastle Knights for next season and is believed to be committed to the deal.

The Tigers have been linked to English Super League Man of Steel Jackson Hastings over the course of the past fortnight.

The joint venture is looking at Hastings to fill a utility player style of position for next season and beyond.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire has personally spoken to Hastings.

No deal is expected to struck anytime soon.

This would be the Tigers best offload ever if this happens!

Please go Brooks. Bring in Madden.

I can see Brooks leaving the whispers were out well before the media talk that Payten wants him up in NQLD. I think he will go well up there sometimes players need a change especially when playing in battling sides for years. Cowboys are terrible but there’s not as much media pressure up there.

He would go as well as Esan is going up there .

Something he has struggled with!

This week will tell us a lot. He really needs to take it to Moses and better him.

I do not find his defence is the issue he is a pretty good defender for his size .

I love me some Jimmy Maloney. He’s our man.

He'll end up at the Rorters, on a basic contract plus a round of golf with Unca Nick.

No don’t think so, I have it on very good authority he and his family like it in France and he is very happy playing there. He’ll most likely retire there.

Always wondered why Potter was given such little time, especially considering how much longer Jason Taylor stayed on as head coach.

In all seriousness 5150,I have been a critic of Lukes on this forum so many times I forget, however in my quickness to bag the bloke I never took the time to put myself in his position,he had numerous coaches with numerous game plans and structures thrown at him, pressure to be the next Joey Johns,a club icon overcalling him, fans and members on his back to perform and people on social media being absolutely callous towards him...
Now my attitude has changed...Madge is starting to get him to play his way and follow his instructions to the letter...
Against Newy the other day,on tv it showed a couple of times Madge talking to Luke on the side, make out what you want but to me Madge is finally getting Luke stable with not much pressure on him, hence AD played so well with Luke...they will complete a very good spine with Dane and Jacob...his time has come,we seen some of it on the weekend, the best is only around the corner, not just for Luke but the team as a whole...
Have faith in Madge..he ALWAYS speaks highly of this group of players ...unlike other coaches who call players out in public....

I wasnt talking about his defence.

Its his heart, he goes to water when the big boys are charging at him when he has the ball.

Watch a replay of any Roosters game he has played and JWH torments him. Most of his mistakes are on the back of JHW pressure.

Paulo is the next man up who torments him.

he needs to step it up in that kind of situation if he is to ever silence his critics.

God you spray some garbage sometimes . It’s seriously confirmation bias you’re seeing . Yes and it’s also the reverse for myself , and many others on here . But I acknowledge that . Brooks is a lot of things but a pea heart is not one of them . And the toughest dudes on earth would be wary if a grub like JWH was coming at you hard when your in an extremely vulnerable position like kicking . It’s literally the reason why he’s coming at you . It doesn’t make you a pea heart . How many dudes have had thier career ended by someone diving at the legs , or breaking thier jaw with a swinging arm . The rule has changed , but that doesn’t prevent the action from happening . It just punishes it .

Difference between us is is I've watched the guy closely when under pressure from guys like JWH.

I won't change my opinion one bit. He goes to water.

Good on you for supporting him but once you see what I have seen you wouldn't claim it to be garbage.

Yeah he was quoted somewhere today that he doesn't plan to return. Said something about being too old - that he probably debuted when Sam Walker was born.

Geeeez you write a fair comment and it gets downvoted heavily and immediately by the fan club. So tiring honestly. It’s like Brooks has his own online marketing team.
That, or memories worse than goldfish on here. This forum is worse than Facebook sometimes.

Yeah , I’m sure that’s what the down votes were for

Not the fact his solution was a 34 year old Jimmy Maloney or a Rookie who has barely stood out in reserve grade to take the reigns.

Don’t understand why so many people on here think you hit 30 and you’re then redundant.same people saying don’t sign Adam Reynolds or Jimmy Maloney.

Yes, let’s NOT sign an experienced half who has won comp(s) and played origin. Let’s stick with someone who’s played 150 games and somehow won a dally M three years ago.

Ah yes, we certainly have a winning attitude at the Tigers.

I suppose you could argue why would a winning club like South's be prepared to let a player like Reynolds walk rather than sign him for any longer than 1 year, and not have an equal replacement? Like us they have been burned by signing players on bIg money contracts at the back end of their careers for no value. Perhaps clubs are getting a bit smarter in spending their cap and not being dictated to by managers and players.

You could also wonder why Reynolds wants 3 years as “security”?
The reality is that his security rests in his ability to perform. Why is Reynolds so keen to transfer that risk to the club?

You’re trying to compare Adam Reynolds to Josh Reynolds? Are you serious? That is the dumbest comparison of players of the same quality I’ve ever heard.

I am happy to claim that Brooks is the worst half to ever play rugby league.

Bring in anyone else!

Ah yes, we certainly have a winning attitude at the Tigers.

lol we literally just got rid of a player , who was the wrong side of 30 , great bloke “game changing “ leadership and winning culture guy. With injury concerns . Coincidentally he even had the same last name .
Nope ! We build from the ground up. It’s proven the only real way to compete .

You can claim whatever you want, doesn’t mean anybody will agree.

I was thinking the exact same thing. The only similarity is the last name. Josh Reynolds had nothing but high energy. Was not a game manager, could hardly kick, couldn’t kick goals, and possibly our worst ever signing. Watch the roosters vs rabbits game, Adam Reynolds organised evertything. It’s what we need and what we are missing. If he does actually go to market we will not be the only club chasing him.
