Can he stand up the pressure Parra will bring through the likes of Paulo and Brown roughing him up and come out on top of Mitch Moses.

Something he has struggled with!

This week will tell us a lot. He really needs to take it to Moses and better him.

I do not find his defence is the issue he is a pretty good defender for his size .

I wasnt talking about his defence.

Its his heart, he goes to water when the big boys are charging at him when he has the ball.

Watch a replay of any Roosters game he has played and JWH torments him. Most of his mistakes are on the back of JHW pressure.

Paulo is the next man up who torments him.

he needs to step it up in that kind of situation if he is to ever silence his critics.

God you spray some garbage sometimes . It’s seriously confirmation bias you’re seeing . Yes and it’s also the reverse for myself , and many others on here . But I acknowledge that . Brooks is a lot of things but a pea heart is not one of them . And the toughest dudes on earth would be wary if a grub like JWH was coming at you hard when your in an extremely vulnerable position like kicking . It’s literally the reason why he’s coming at you . It doesn’t make you a pea heart . How many dudes have had thier career ended by someone diving at the legs , or breaking thier jaw with a swinging arm . The rule has changed , but that doesn’t prevent the action from happening . It just punishes it .

Difference between us is is I've watched the guy closely when under pressure from guys like JWH.

I won't change my opinion one bit. He goes to water.

Good on you for supporting him but once you see what I have seen you wouldn't claim it to be garbage.

What makes you think you are seeing anything that we are not?
Of course, Opinions are entitled but C’mon, you don’t know ‘How Closely’ we have watched our team and players etc.

I dont think i have stated that i watch things more closely than other people. Not at all.

Just saying if you take off the Wests Tigers cap and have a real good look at Luke Brooks when he is intimidated by the big enforcers he goes to water.

In years gone by we also had forwards, usually a lock, who could guide a team around the field. This was a time when a lock was far more highly skilled player than being another prop. I'd like to see this style of highly mobile and clever ball player return. Rocky Laurie, Langmack and some of the great UK forwards like Reilly come to mind.

Jees! I can't believe the venom directed at one player, the tigers have been ordinary , with slow and with at least 3 players , JR, Packer, Mbye, all on about $300,000 more a year pulling them under. The halves always cop the blame, its obvious if you have been watching the game more then 5 minutes, that the best performing halves have the best forwards and backs. Did the halves make the top 4 sides good ? Or is it far easier for a half to look good in a great side ? The halves are called such because they are the link between the forwards and backs, if either don't perform they are in no mans land. The Tigers are still weak, especially in the backs, till this is fixed, curb your anger.

Young Madden received a huge hit in the Knight's match after passing which resulted in a try. These smaller players are very brave and tough.

Dude thee venom is there for those guys too. But the one common denominator since 2013 is Brooks! Enough is enough!

Like us they have been burned by signing players on bIg money contracts at the back end of their careers for no value.

I think that's the main issue.

Nobody is saying 30+ is over the hill, but definitely there is greater risk of a rapid physical decline after this time. A key or even niggling injury may be far more difficult to recover from if you are 32 vs 22 years old.

You look at Michael Morgan, he's only 29 years old and within the last 6 years was instrumental in getting the Cowboys to 2 grand finals and 1 premiership. He was an Origin regular two seasons ago.

Now he's facing medical retirement from an ongoing shoulder complaint, with 3 years to run on his deal.

**Wests Tigers hold meeting with Luke Brooks amid interest from North Queensland Cowboys**

The Wests Tigers have held a sit down meeting with halfback Luke Brooks to ensure the no. 7 the club wants the playmaker to remain at Concord.
Brooks still has this season plus two more at the Wests Tigers but has been heavily linked to the North Queensland Cowboys in the past fortnight.

Brooks, 26, played under 20s for Wests Tigers when Cowboys coach Todd Payten was coaching at the joint venture.

The Tigers spoke to Brooks in the lead-up to their first victory of the season over Newcastle last Sunday to assure the halfback the club wants to retain the local junior long-term.

“We’ve told Luke we believe in him and we want him to remain our halfback,” Tigers general manager of football Adam Hartigan said.

“There’s never been any indication about him wanting to play anywhere else.”

The Cowboys are expected to enter the open market in search of a playmaker with Michael Morgan currently exploring being medically retired.

The move will mean North Queensland is cashed-up and can make a play for an established half.

Current Cowboys no. 7 Jake Clifford has signed with the Newcastle Knights for next season and is believed to be committed to the deal.

The Tigers have been linked to English Super League Man of Steel Jackson Hastings over the course of the past fortnight.

The joint venture is looking at Hastings to fill a utility player style of position for next season and beyond.

Tigers coach Michael Maguire has personally spoken to Hastings.

No deal is expected to struck anytime soon.

This would be the Tigers best offload ever if this happens!

Please go Brooks. Bring in Madden.

Bring in anyone else!

Geeeez you write a fair comment and it gets downvoted heavily and immediately by the fan club. So tiring honestly. It’s like Brooks has his own online marketing team.
That, or memories worse than goldfish on here. This forum is worse than Facebook sometimes.

Yeah , I’m sure that’s what the down votes were for

Not the fact his solution was a 34 year old Jimmy Maloney or a Rookie who has barely stood out in reserve grade to take the reigns.

Don’t understand why so many people on here think you hit 30 and you’re then redundant.same people saying don’t sign Adam Reynolds or Jimmy Maloney.

Yes, let’s NOT sign an experienced half who has won comp(s) and played origin. Let’s stick with someone who’s played 150 games and somehow won a dally M three years ago.

Ah yes, we certainly have a winning attitude at the Tigers.

Does A Reynolds / Jimmy Maloney give you full confidence they can steer us to be a consistent top 8 team? Be reasonable dude, they have played in insane teams all their career. And if I remember correctly, as soon as Jimmy went to a struggling club (Penrith) the fans couldn’t wait to axe him after 6 months

I’ve compared our team to the eels this weekend for example, do you honestly see any of our players cracking their top 17? in current form? There’s maybe 3-4 max if you’re lucky.

That’s not a whack at us, because Parra are a top 4 team on paper no doubt. But it shows how far behind we are in squad depth compared to a top team

Maloney's defence was not the strongest even though he played behind strong forwards.

I don’t understand all the anti Brooks rhetoric? Echoes from journalists like Chamas maybe? When they want to turn up the volume it’s as easy as raising Brooks pay packet😂
I’ve seen his contract go from $675 to $750 to $850 to $900k 😂 What happens at $1m? Keyboards start flying? 😂

Exactly. Could you imagine him here? it’d be like benji all over again, with less finesse

loved that move. went deep into the line and got his opposite to bite which opened the gap up. thought he was very good last week, led the team around nicely and kicked well for the most part. might see him debut towards the end of the year.

I have an opinion, yes your right on our halfback. My agenda is to play finals football. My loyalty is to the team not to individual players. Let’s play with facts here and not keep bending them. Adam Reynold is currently 30 years of age ( not 32). Adam Reynolds has averaged 24 games a year for the last 3 years. What’s your agenda by continuing to post false information?

So tell us how many games in the last 3 years has Adam Reynolds dodgy hamstring kept him out of playing?

He’s 32 mate ! You want to spent a mil on a player with those issues ? Plus how many of those games did he finish on the sideline . He’s tough as nails , so he’d always get out there , and go down . You’ve got an agenda . Don’t pretend like you don’t .

Nothing . He will be 32 if he plays for us next year . So it’s not bending anything . He turns 31 in the next few weeks . And having a pretty good understanding of the biomechanics of the hamstring and lower back injuries and how they connect . As I have had one . And spent some time with surgeons and specialists about how these things go, not to mention research I’ve done . And it’s clear it way worse as you get older. I think it’s too much of a risk . Plus I remember the guy named Reynolds we just released who was 32 , at the completion of his contract not the start . Take also into account he doesn’t really want to come here , he just wants to secure his position. So once again all enough for me to stick with what we have and see how it goes , as it’s been 3 games . I don’t want hear “we haven’t played finals for 8 years “ because really we only had a chance at making that the first year and maybe like 2 other seasons in there . The rest of the time the team was horrible and we’ve been backed for the spoon more times than I can remember . For me , we’ve missed the finals the last 2 years in this current regime . Anything that happened before isn’t applicable to anything other than your emotions .
We’ve had mismanaged players , bad coaches ,‘poor attitude , bad recruiting , disgusting facilities, no corporate support , even less media support , and one by one we are clearing it up . Now it’s the tough one of getting the guys on the field to win .
My position is clear , I want to win with tigers juniors , and kids who have bought in . For loyalty reasons , as I’m a loyal guy , but mainly for sustainability reasons , like being in that conversation for top 4 every year . And it doesn’t happen with signing mercenaries, who arnt someone like Cooper Cronk or James Maloney , and clearly can leave a legacy after they go .And both are light years ahead of Reynolds and proven winners of Multiple premierships.

NRL stats only giving him one try assist? Had a major hand in 3.

Nice pipe dream.

I want the best team we can assemble.
