Seriously what do we do with him. Defence is one of the best in the team. A couple of kicks today were spot on, some weren’t. His attacking options and performance is just very ordinary most of the time. He looks like he has lost speed, but that may just be the way he is playing. I would really like him to come good but what do you do.

I guess he has until the end of the year to turn it around and put in some good performances.

He still looks like little Bo-Peep most of the time in attack ..

My recollections of his contribution: Starting with three perfect bombs on the try line, one bearing a try, another disallowed and Joey couldn't hold the third. Backed up the early Cini break in case he could offload.

A couple of repeat sets, maybe more and apart from his first 5th tackle kick under huge pressure where he still got 30 plus metres, pretty well nailed them in the corner when within range.

An early poor low pass on the right and after opening it up for Doueihi out the back he backed up and scores if Garner offloads.
Lacking time after waiting at dummy half for the next play before Simpkin arrived, Luke probably should have grubbered when the defence was up on his outside and nobody pushing up inside, plus he had a poor miss on Hunt.

Made some big tackles as well, especially on that big backrower, resulting in at least one turnover and got back to the ingoal to defuse a kick.

No doubt other stuff that I cannot recall, but he controlled that game pretty well.


Good summary, also I was surprised how many poor passes he got from Simpkin today. Im a Simpkin convert but today wasnt his finest.

I dont think people appreciate what he contributes to the team. If he was on $450-600K he would be our most valuable.

Yeah you probably right and Madge will not want to tinker too much with a winning side.
I would just love to see Liddle rotate with Simpkin and as well both on at back end of the game.
Speed of back of the ruck is the key to today’s game as it was during Sheens successful years (before the NRL allowed the wrestle to enter the game).

I would like to see Moses Mbye do a Chris Lawrence type contract. But I doubt that would ever happen. He's a great 14. It's always been his position, just no coach had the guts to play him there.

Interesting he came on the last 20 and played a hooking role only and surprisingly did well. Although you’d have to think Liddle would do better in that role.

I think he was 6.5 out of 10 today. Longer kicks didn't find space, and a couple of times should have passed instead of run the ball. Apart from that, his short kicking game was good, defence was quite good (bar 1 miss).

He's just not playing with confidence, but took steps in the right direction today. With a win next week and a but more confidence he could kick on. Here's hoping.

It's just starting to Gain momentum
Soon as it is impossible to make the 8 this year I think he will be dropped and Madden will be in for experience
Next year Hastings is here, (apparently for lock) but is an option in the halves
If many of us can see Brooks is struggling then so can Madge and Hartigan
They have to be looking at other halves in the comp
Shaun Johnson and Madge would know each other through the Kiwi side
He is an option
Would much prefer Reynolds but he looks Cronulla bound
Johnson for 2 years would be OK until someone else stands out
He could be good for Maddens development as well

We were camped in their 20, made 7-2 line breaks, 21-4 offloads and 46-21 tackle breaks but only limped out by 8 thanks to a couple of sideline conversions. This was the second week running that Brooks had an open try line ahead but didn't notice. 53-11 tackles in the opposition 20 sums up our attack or lack thereof. Yes, we won, but it should have been by 30 plus. (Stats from Fox, NRL are even more lopsided)

We didn’t win by more cos we aren’t a good team. In a way, we won the game by the margin that represents the team we are.
