All well brooks performed well , but he needs to back it up , he is at the age and experience level not to have a blinder one week and shit game the next .
He needs to show the goods for the next month at least before anyone changes their opinion of him

I cannot help thinking that the Doueihi-Mbye swap was more about Brooksy not being over called by Doueihi. The removal of Benji was meant to help him find his voice - little did they know, they got a louder one in AD.

I reckon AD might be the next to agitate for a release, the whole thing about $$$ for centre’s versus halves and his open desire to play 5/8.

Doueihi looked pretty happy scoring tries. I'm sure the club can and will match anything offered for a good junior. They let him slip one time but I'm confident we are a much improved retention and recruitment organisation.

He was interviewed today and reaffirmed his preference is to play five eight, but will play where Madge wants him to. He was promised five eight, so how long he keeps towing the line is anyone's guess

Where was the interview?

I heard it on the radio

Funny what happens when Luke runs the ball

… and moves it wide instead of turning it back on the inside continually.

Yep, thats the big one, the nothing ball back inside stifled countless attack the last 2 seasons

Gee I thought you we describing Cleary cross field back inside to Yeo, Fisher-Harrs or Leota 50 times a game for a sec

Cleary and Brooks are nothing alike, I wouldn’t even know where to start

He really did do very well against knights. Only errors were the failed kick for touch and one grubber that didn't go deep enough really.

Really hope he backs it up because if he keeps that form we will have a much bigger chance of winning games every week

Side effects of steroids.

Penrith were nothing a few years ago now they're bigger, stronger and faster than every other club.

How does this happen?
Oh yeah they all played together growing up.

I don't believe it.

Im going to stick my neck out here and have a say why we had a great result against the Knights on magic weekend...and as usual I will cop the criticism if Im wrong....

Firstly the reason we played better is because our golden haired boy was moved from 5/8 to centre where he has had experience before,Im talking about AD..he is relatively new to the 5/8 position at NRL level and Madge has seen that and made a change...Mbye who everybody wants to get rid of finally got to play his favoured position in the halves,a great ball distributor, defender and understands that the backs NEED ball...

Secondly,AD played a very classy game and ran the ball well and scored points, because he was fed by Mbye and given space...he learnt something about playing 5/8 at NRL level...

Lastly for all the people who bagged me when I said to leave things to the coach who spends numerous hours with these players and talks openly with them, that they would have spoken about the positional changes at training to better the team...I will accept apologies, because Madge is the coach and knows far more than us...he is starting to get results albeit the hard way,but it will happen...

Are you serious? We beat the Knights B-grade side and with respect to the Knights, their A-grade side is bottom 8 quality at best.

The decision to move Doueihi to centre is a short term decision to gain immediate results to save face for Madge. He is our future in the halves and Madge moving him is not in our long term interests.

Nevermind reasoning with the unreasonable Geo.
It’s a good statement you make. And a fair observation.
The difference between the two sides is that the forwards don’t take a drop back run as a chance to get a breather and settle the play, the Panthers forwards take it as an opportunity to they run it back inside with force and create a quick play the ball.
I would say the tigers aren’t alone in that play. It’s probably only the Panthers forwards of all 16 teams that really run hard whenever they run the ball.
Laurie Daley mentioned it after one of our bad losses. That if the play out wide is no longer on, that as an alternative Brooks needs to turn a forward back under instead of dying with the ball. This change of angle can sometimes generate momentum back in the ruck if the forward makes a half break and gets a quick play the ball.
This is exactly what the Panthers do extremely well.
I’m yet to see another team do this as effective as them, most of teams resort in an Aiden Tolman run when they turn a forward under.
Is this Cleary or is this the Panthers as a whole?
