Luke Lewis..

Rather Hoffman, as he's still playing 80 minutes every week and is a bit more under the radar so should be a bit cheaper.

Having said that, Lewis would be good for next year, not sure what he'd be like in 2019 though.

Players tend to go downhill pretty fast north of 30\. I remembers Richards first season back with us, some were in awe. There were calls to extend his contract. Second year he was bog average.

We already have McQueen and Lawrence as experienced back-rowers.

I am not against this signing, it would be great, but I think money can be better spent elsewhere for dynamic game-breakers.

Lawrence is not an experienced backrower at all.

Nor should he be mentioned in the Same Breath as this guy.
Lewis played for his State, His Country, Dominated and won a premiership in the position….

I called for this some time back and was shouted down...
Roosters and Manly (And Sharks) aren't trying to get him next for no reason...
He's quality - And would sure up our garbage edges!!

Lewis would be a stand out, as we have a strong pack for 2018 he would be the last piece of the puzzle, as a bonus, has always been seen to be a decent bloke, treated the beauties on league life with respect as well

Would be a smart signing in my eyes. Stories about Luke's professionalism look to be something we could use to set a standard at the club.

Oh, and considering we dont have any 80min Backrowers at this stage, it makes the idea more appealing to me.

I think it's a massive risk especially on big dollars. He could be great but he could stuff our cap.

Neither of them are anywhere near the standard that Lewis still is.
And I hate saying that about Rowdy,
McQueen is either carrying a long time injury or is way out of form,
He's been ordinary for most of this season when he has played.

I get that, Lewis is far superior to Rowdy and Mcqueen.

My point is that we are paying Rowdy and McQueen big bucks and if they're not in the starting side, then it's a waste.

Depth is one thing, but you don't want to pay $$$ for an old player to play in reserve grade.

Everyone is complaining about how we are paying Sirro & Farah big dollars not to play for us, this is basically the same.

Like most here I like Lewis, but his stats this season (49 missed tackles, 13 errors, 80 metres a game) might show him already on the decline.

We aren't paying Lawrence big bucks. He took a pay cut and is on around $300k for the remainder. Plus I believe we get a bit of credit for long service players. 300k for a top 30 player will be around average if not the losers end.

I'd be surprised if we got him. Would definitely help our backrow stocks for sure. Out of interests sake, I'd be keen to see whether Rowdy could match him in a foot race.

Lewis won last years Clive Churchill Medal and has still been awesome this year. If it wasn't for him we would have beaten Cronulla at Shark Park this year. If we got the chance I would definitely sign him as a starting second rower. He is was we need and we have money.
