Lets be real.. The team has improved dramatically and playing as a TEAM.

As for Panthers, just shows their lack of depth...

Okay, the team has definitely improved.

Who would you give the 3,2,1 points to? I'm going:

3 Brooks. I've been a critic for a while but I'm onside now. His kicking has improved immensely and his defence, which was never in question, is even better.

2 Garner. Has toughened right up and rarely misses, runs hard and goes the big minutes.

1 Mbye. Has really settled the attack and also defends well.

Would of thought Twal was worth 3pts, did you see his numbers?

Tck-38 top
PCM-59 top
RM-152 top
Runs-18 top

But a lot of blokes played out of there skin?

Who got MOM on the night? Would've thought for sure Twal got it he was immense!!

Think it was Brooks

he played well, but for mine twal was next level

Twal always plays well. It's just come to be expected of him. Gould spoke very highly of him.

Score flattered us, but for 65 minutes we were up by 6 against the panthers 2nd grade side.

Conceded 2 tries against a 12 man Warriors side.

There is some cool-aid being drunk and there will be a rude awakening.

I agree. There were some really good performances from our players but it doesn't count until we can do it to the leading teams.

There are no extra points for beating the leading teams. It counted - like every win.

It is a benchmark to measure performance and improvement. Are the improvements against the Panthers real or, were they because we were playing their second string team?

To call them a second string team is pretty silly to be honest. All the blokes starting in that team bar Jennings have been in their first grade team wether it be starting or on the bench, all year. Not to mention we literally invited them to into the game 10 times in the first half and they still couldn’t capitalise. Improvements are real

They had what 8 players out? Any objective rugby league supporter would consider it a second string team.

It's a fact that it's a second-string team, by definition of being selected with a host of players out. Question is whether a second-string Panthers is still a good side or not.

Whichever way you dice it, only three sides have managed to beat Penrith since the start of 2020 - Parra in Rd 5 2020, Storm in the GF and now us. It is plausible Penrith could have dropped a game last year if Origin had been played mid-year rather than end-year.

Aren't we getting into semantics? I'm glad we won and more importantly that many of our players did well. But let's not fool ourselves, the real test comes when we play the Panthers at full strength at Penrith.

No I don't think so. Everyone is saying Tigers beat a depleted Penrith side, of course we did, but doesn't mean that's still not a decent side to beat. It's not as if Penrith were the baby Broncos, they still had plenty of their strike power available - particularly Burton who was putting on an audition for his 2022 halves role at Bulldogs.

Partially agree. Tigers invited Panthers back into the game too many times to be convinced the team has suddenly turned the corner. We were lucky that Panthers had very little in attack, particularly with May at halfback.
Having said that there were signs of improvement from the Tigers and nice win to build upon.

Tim Sheens returning got me thinking of something.

A month or so ago when people were calling for Madge's head, and others were saying we need additional coaching staff, there was a myth doing the rounds to the effect of 'Madge doesn't want good or high profile assistants because he is paranoid about getting replaced by them'.

This is obviously rubbish, because he'd previously tried to bring Laurie Daley to the club.

My 3 points on the game last week would be..

1. Brooks - beauty tackles
2. Twal - Strong, but could be stronger
3. Garner - Getting better by the day

Ha fair question, Origin may suggest otherwise. But at least he is a well respected and high profile figure and most of us were delighted when we thought he was coming and filthy when he was blocked.

I think he is good working as an assistant working with the halves but would be a terrible head coach.

I would agree, but he's still not a person I would bring to the club if I was paranoid and supposedly wanted to surround myself only with Joe Blow nuffies on the basis of that paranoia.
