I'm all in on Sheens. A rookie coach will struggle with the job ahead. It's too big a mess with too many things to fix.

Sheen's for two seasons and coach up the likes of Gardiner or Morris or Farah and kimmorley to take over in a smooth transition.

Only other option is Wayne Bennett but that's a long shot.

Does Sheens want the Job would be the question I would ask...?

Thing about sacking madge too his been talking to a lot of juniors and their parents which seem to like him. Unethical to pull the rug on them and say ow here is our new coach hopefully he likes you to.

Problem with madge the nrl side were not playing for him and experience will not come until the young guys are ready who will create the new club culture.

He seems to have invested a lot of time and interest in developing Indigenous pathways as well which he has mentioned a few times. Would be a shame to see that lost.

If he was available do we think he'd be a good fit?

When the two morons conducting it should be reviewed themselves, you know the fix is in. The odds aren’t in Madge’s favour.

That's where board need to wake up to themselves.

lol Yeah..but I meant Does he want EVERYTHING that goes with being an NRL coach at Wests Tigers entails..

We did end up in court at the end of his last tenure..

I agree that Madge has to leave in order to allow the club to short circuit the recruitment spiral it’s been in. Above all what is critical is that the next $1.5m we have to spend for 2022 is spent well, it is the most important decision we have made since Cleary left. I feel for Madge, he’s obviously a great person but he really only has himself to blame. If he was improving players his job would not be on the line, the fact that results have gone backwards over the season show we are missing some quality recruits and Madge for whatever reason cannot recruit (players don’t come to a club because the CEO is impressive or they like the GM of football it surely is because they want to be coached).

So if Madge is gone then who?

1) Flanagan and his son? A more modern coach who can possibly attract players and improve the media perception (for a time) but who he questionable morals?

2) ciraldo? A rookie coach who will be thrown to the wolves after the first month if we aren’t winning?

3) **Green? A failed coach who only really succeeded with a future immortal in the halves?**

If the Qld expansion gets delayed (unlikely) then maybe Bennet is available for a few years but other than that the cupboard is pretty bare.

Everyone is quick to write off Green as a dud, and back Madge as a good coach, I don't get it, Madge won a comp in 2014 is a fact, Green won one in 2015 also a fact, both were sacked soon after doing so.
Both had great players at their disposal, but Green got the Cowboys to the grand final in 2017 without Matt Scott gone after round 4 and JT gone after origin, everyone wrote them off after that.
Whilst I don't want Green as coach, I see him as equal or better than Madge on what he has done.

Good point and alternatively people want Morris. Makes zero sense.

The leagues clubs are closed. They would have lost alot of money since the lockdown. Which will be cutting into there profits.

I obviously have no knowledge of that, I assume that would be wrapped up in the decision to punt him.

Michael Maguire has a clause in his recently-extended two-year contract that would allow the Wests Tigers to hit the eject button without much of an impact to the bottom line.

It’s the protection mechanism that the club were adamant they needed in case the rumblings around Maguire’s relationship with the players spilled over and left them with no choice but to part ways.

Certainly don't disagree but life isn't always fair.
Think its better to just take decisive action now. Madge reports to Hartigan, Hartigan to JP, JP to the Board.
When Madge is sacked both Hartigan and JP should be getting their own reviews done as well, hopefully JP can join them

Very true and a good point. In 2019 (pre COvid) WA put in $950K which is a lot but less than 10% of revenue.

Hopefully the new coach gives our halfback a fatherly chat about 5th tackle options, short balls at the line to second rowers and his kicking game. It's all been garbage for years.

If Blore doesn't give Brooks a pair of Irish sunglasses over Mad Monday for his efforts on the weekend I'll be surprised.

Or he could just use him as Cleary did.

And get us to ninth again. It would be an absolute disaster if madge is gone and brooks is still here. The ONE common denominator in our last decade of not playing finals football is brooks. If that’s not enough to get rid of him then I give up on this club.

If Brooks is an agitator I agree - for his sake but mostly for ours.
