Sheens' role has changed a hundred times since he first signed on apparently.

Wouldn't surprise me if sheens is the "coach" just without the title.

I mean that in the last 8 years (actually 9 years) the Wests Tigers have only *sacked* 1 coach. Jason Taylor.

And Mick potter

Potter wasn't re-signed not sacked technically.

What ever you say

And plus I didn’t say we sacked 6 coaches in 10 years I’m well aware the Ivan ditched the club

What is your point? Was Andrew Webster ever employed as first grade coach? Your point is ridiculous and intentionally misleading. I can prove it.

The Wests Tigers have employed 5 coaches as first grade coachs in 18 years and sacked 2.

This is a fact, does it meet your narrative? The fact is that the Wests Tigers have sacked 2 coaches in 18 years.

Lets get real.
He coaches 2 games until Ivan arrived

Andrew Webster was never employed as first grade coach.. We have had 5 coaches in 18 years. Why did you pick 10 years? The answer is for maximum alignment with your narrative.
sheens 2012, mick potter 2014, Jason Taylor 2017, Ivan Cleary 2018 Madge might be sacked that’s huh i said 10 years
5 Coaches in 18 years. Sacked only 2 coaches in 18 years. Does that work for you in your narrative?

Why*

Why didnt you say 18 years? We have had 5 coaches in 18 years as well. Does that not match the narrative?

How many coaches have the Wests Tigers sacked in 18 years?

2

Hey when was the last time tigers made the finals? 10 years Coincidentally when we had 5 coaches, tigers should of never sacked sheens.

Sacking Sheens was the right decision imo.

So how do you feel about bringing him back?

I thought at the time it was the right decision to move him on, I would have him as coach next year working with an up and coming coach to take over in the next 2 years.

That’s hindsight for you because sacking him clearly was a mistake.

No not really, what is right for an organisation at one point in time may not be the same thing 10 years later.

So tigers were successful without him?

Never said we were successful, I am a fan of Sheens. Just because things didn't get better does not mean the decision to relieve Sheens was wrong. It means the decision to appoint is replacement was wrong.

Ok why did tigers sack him?

I think going from predicted premiers to not making the finals may have had an impact.

And he was aligned with Humphries and the backended contract disasters

The salary cap was a mess when he left, it is the reason Potter had such little power.

Especially with the Grange gifting director responsible for the fall of the NSW Premier interfering with the Farah contract and causing further disharmony.

So what is the story behind Barry O'Farrell and Farah?
@formerguest

Sheens arrival is being treated like the second coming - literally. It must be a little disconcerting for any incoming or remaining coach until there is some clarity around his level of involvement.

He is, Betsey is very impressive as well. Betsey headed up pathways for cricket Australia for a number of years, focusing on the organisational structure. Betsey and Kimmorley both applied for the Head of Pathways role, Betsey got it, but they offered Kimmorley the role as Pathways Coaching Manager.

Having been involved in Cricket Junior pathways for the last 15 years, that is an endorsement. I ahve always thought that Cricket hed the best junior cricket pathways in sport which IMO is the secret to NSW & Aussie Cricket success, Hope it transitions well.

I think it would be a boost for the club to stick by madge, show the media they are willing to back the man they extended not even 12 months ago and let him have more time to see his plan come through developing the younger players and youth pathways. Move on some more deadwood over the off season and let him continue to build the team

You're a breath of fresh air @BeeJay

Not sure I have faith in unproven commodities. If we bring in Sheens to bring in a young coach it’s a mistake. He needs to be in a Phil Gould type capacity.

That is the exact reason I don't have faith putting a rookie into the hardest coaching gig in the NRL.

then Farah....now....Liddle
then Ellis....now Lucey
then Lawrence.....now Talau...
just saying the difference in quality in the team in those years to now.....

Agree - let madge see the culture change he is leading.

We haven't exactly given him a squad to succeed with and complain when he doesnt succeed.

The squad is developing slowly with the young crew - which will be better next year and the next.

Let madge grow with them.

But please give him some new assistants

And we didn't make the 8 with that team -

But call for the coach to be sacked when we don't make the 8 with this team.

Hopefully in 2 years our Laurie will be a teddy and talau a Lawrence- but they need time to develop
