We are now 1 from 5 and facing another likely loss next week against the Bunnies who are in red hot form. Today's pathetic first half effort was simply disgraceful. Hope we can turn things around but it had better be soon or another season will be over for us-if it isn't already!

If I was Bennett I’d be resting players

If I was Bennett, I would be organising a chat with Pascoe, regarding coaching position next year

Why would Bennett want to do that ?

We can't sack Madge. There is no one better out there and even if there were, why would they want to come to us?

What was his game plan today?
What worked against the EELS last week?
Blowing a gale early on why was not AD bombing?
Rookies at the back for cowboys who were we targeting?

Made last minute changes with the side - Garner to bench but D has been good past few weeks?
BJ out only one week after the Roosters game should have been at least a month to prove himself?

Tactically he is not up to it, long term needs to move on team are not playing for him, nuffie don't rate him now.

Yeah he’s not that stupid, that’s why he chose Souths instead of us when he left the Broncos.

Madge has failed to turn this group into a team. They do not play for the club, the coach or each other. There are a couple individuals who try hard but there is nothing even resembling a cohesive unit. It shouldn't take getting booed off Leichhardt oval at half-time to get the Tigers' NRL side motivated to play.

Russell Crowe factor was the clincher

Maybe but I’m sure the rosters had a lot to do with it also.

I like Madge as a bloke and thought he was the right choice at the time he was hired.

But it's becoming obvious the only tool he has in his coaches toolbox is a hammer. Flogging blokes and trying to be the fittest team ain't working.

He is poor tactically. We never play a different style of footy, depending on the opposition. It's the same plan week in, week out, regardless of opposition strengths or weakness. We are predictable as a result and rarely target a teams weakness.

His use of the bench never wavers despite the scoreline or game momentum. Too robotic.

He has a month to save his job imo.

Can't keep blaming Ivan forever, unfortunately it looks like the team aren't playing for him.

Agree completely but will go a few more steps.
Change starts at the Top - CEO Pascoe needs to go.
Brooks - Start Madden drop completely
Simkins to hooker - Liddle on Bench
Younger forwards to give more minutes,
Coach rather Morris than Madge, at least he makes the 8.

The only thing I'd question is whether there's a poor tactical plan or if the players simply aren't implementing it.

Sacking the coach is the easy way out and rarely solves the problems.

A lot of us look at our team with rose coloured glasses, but the truth is, Madge has a dud roster.

We need a club rebuild from the top down.

The board need to grow a pair and bring in someone experienced to have a good look at our footy operations.

Until things change at the top, we'll always be the NRL's used car yard.

Absolutely. Spot on.

Maybe this Anthony Griffin can actually coach

annnnd we picked Jason Taylor over him when we had a chance 🙁

Not the only time we chose the wrong option, look what we have now

Pascoe: reminds me of a used car salesman. Says all the right things, but it's all smoke and mirrors. It's a results driven industry footy, and ours are getting worse each year.

Brooks: I kinda feel for the guy. How would he perform at the Storm, titans, roosters, Canberra or parra? Are their half backs better than him or is it our coaching/club using him poorly?

Simkins: agreed, he needs to debut this week. He would have already debuted at the top clubs, but our "system" is terrible and hard for these kids to debut

Forwards: agree they need more minutes. I also think we need changes. Some hunger, passion and aggression. Tuki looks likely in reserves (I missed today's game). Seyfarth probably adds something off the bench.
I feel Twal is becoming a Gallen/ Woods momentum killer. His stats read good but he stifles our attack and gets the ball at the wrong time

Coach: Madge has a month to save his job. Would Bennett be interested? I know he wants to move back to Brisbane, but you are a long time required. Say what you will about him, but players want to play for him and he can attract talent.

Doesn't matter if Madge stays or goes. It's bigger than the coach.

That’s our biggest dilemma. Madge is clearly not getting through to the players but I don’t think anyone can. Our mentality is always to take the easy option. Our defence is disgusting. No line speed. Line speed takes effort, takes guts to keep going ane going even when your tired. We are all over the cowboys in the second half , disallowed try and we allow the cowboys to go 80metrws and score a try. Where is the all on the line attitude to smash the cowboys for that set and get the ball back. Madge is not the answer but as you say there are bigger issues at our club and most supporters are over it.

Yep 100%. Didn't dig in and have a go, just dropped their heads and let the Cowboys seal it.

We have been doing that a long before Madge came along. It's almost like it is in our DNA to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm just watching the eels v dragons and thinking how madge is probably what parra need. He might just get them a premiership. He is not a rebuild coach.
I'd give @happy_tiger lefty and @hobbo1 righty to have Hook as our coach right now. Story on nrl.com about how he gets the group to have a coffee/beer together and get to know each other is what we need

Do I have to tell the Jason Hetherington story again .....

Yep, exactly. There is obviously problems that aren’t visible to us.

Whether he stays or goes, we are doomed for failure. He might as well stay.

The guy has coached a team to win the GF, I’m definitely not doubting his abilities to coach. The problem is elsewhere.

Do you mean Bennett has the part of Zombie leader in Rustys next movie?
