Ive never wanted a coach sacked before but i think its time he moved on. They arent listening and decensive structure is poor and thats the coaches bread and butter

Just so we are all clear that's not going to happen. Tigers specifically doubled-down on Madge last year and they aren't going to now try and pay him out, not with almost 3 seasons left on his contract.

nor should they. We have been through a revolving door of coaches for too long. Give him the time he needs to make us into the force we should be.

We definitely have an attitude issue! But everyone’s picking up on it, somethings wrong!
Maybe Madge is training them way too hard during the week and they are fatigued come game day. Madge is old school and the game has changed. The jet looks buggered before kick of these days, line speed is non existing.

Bennet trains his teams really hard during pre season and as the season starts he reduces it to keep the players fresh and he focuses on team building exercises for morale and plans for each team, one of the Souths boys said they had a session of touch footy, because the game was almost similar to the speed of the current game. (Notice Souths and parra both don’t look structured like our attack)
Overall Bennett expects his players to get better towards the end of the year.

I feel Madge is the opposite and just pushes and pushes, the game is quicker now days the boys need to be fresh, you would think they are over training by the way they play at the start of our games. Lathergic and flat. Signs of being overtrained or something more serious.

We need to hire someone who can work between the coach and players to give both sides a fair go. Kinda like a coaching director. Throw cash at Bellamy or Bennett for next year. Will be pricey but go a long way.

We are definitely improving as a Fanbase..it took roughly 7 years to turn on Sheensy down to 18 months for Madge..

The next bloke will be sacked before he starts..

Now people want Sheens back.

I think a Sheens and Morris combo would have a far better chance of success than our current coach.

So a 70 year old that we sacked 9 years ago?

Absolutely. I think the rule changes would suit Sheens style down to the ground. I think Maguires style doesn’t suit the modern game at all and I think that’s been reflected in our results.

I actually agree , he would have killed it with these new rules , pity they didn’t introduce it a decade ago when he was younger or still at WT , the wrestling and slowing with deliberate penalties killed his type of coaching

I'm not in the 'Sack Madge' camp yet, simply because Wests Tigers already looks like a coaching revolving door.
I agree with the comments to do with players attitude. There seems to be little passion out there, nobody taking responsibility or setting an example.
A red flag went up for me when Maguire let Corey Thompson go to the Titans. Thompson was an attitude player. He was always there putting in effort, setting an example. A little bloke with a big attitude. Holbrook has managed to find a place for him, Maguire couldn't.
I'd keep Maguire for now for the reason stated above, but somebody in a position of authority needs to do a serious face to face review of his performance with him.
That's mine for now.

How is it possible to overtrain a professional footy team? In between the recovery and pregame freshen up there’s not a lot of time? Maybe the pregame warm up session is too long? IDK?
If I have a criticism of Madge’s performance, it is in his anger tantrums. After the Cowboys loss he was said to have been more angry 😤 than anyone has ever seen him, so he refrained from speaking to the players.
He can’t afford to let his emotion dominate his critical thinking. There appears to be something the players aren’t happy with a.
Madge’s comment..we need to find our shoulders, may provide an answer? Or more questions? Either way, the lack of desire is beginning to make the players look like pussies who should be playing Rugby Union.

I would be looking to see if Morris wants to join as an assistant coach.

He can coach and has good player relations. He lacks other aspects which under Madge feel he could learn but has aspects that could compliment Madge style.

Our defence is disorganized , no line speed and we are far too passive

We can't defuse bombs

Our attack has no organized spark

How were things different under Potter , Taylor , etc etc etc

I almost don't care anymore ...you wouldn't be surprised if Tommy brought himself to life for a for moments and changed back into a Newtown jersey after being forced to watch that crap

I'll never forgive these 17 players for this what the did to our legend ....they don't care ....Madge doesn't care .....the club is just a big act .....trying out for reality TV

:100:% agree Mr @happy_tiger.
I would like to say more, but I'm too damn cranky atm so would probably say the wrong thing and get lambasted again.

Anyone who had half a brain could see that 2021 was going to be a disaster

What happens with the recruitment in the next 11 months and how Madge molds this team will make or break Madge in my opinion

Who knows .....maybe Maguire is doing this to show how far this squad is from finals footy ...help with recruitment for 2022

There is probably no one more disappointed in this team after last weeks performance than Iam...
However, before completely writing him off as a good coach,Iam prepared to let him continue moulding this team into a respectable performing NRL side...
Obviously with the players he has to work with,no easy task...
The younger guys need to learn their trade,eg,Stef being on the run on side instead of the bench,AJ back in the side as a centre,Simpkin starting hooker, etc etc....
Some of the changes I cant really elaborate on as I dont see what Madge does at training..
Its early days and we are 6 rnds into the comp...
First we played 2 great teams ,we beat Newy and then got a lesson from a bottom team...a mixed bag to say the least...just as the NRL coach must perform to an NRL standard so do the players...some needed to be woken up ...BJ comes to mind and Roberts is dynamic with the ball in hand but doesnt get enough to produce his best(maybe still a niggle somewhere as well)....
I will give him until mid season to produce results,if we dont improve, maybe Madge may not be here next season.....

You know he signed or re-signed 26 of the current 28 NRL squad + every development and train and trial player we have...

If Madge can't work with them who can..that's his job ..the 'not his team reason' ran out last year IMO..

This is more his team than most other NRL coaches get.

What Im saying GEO,is the amount of youth and experience he has to work with, younger ones to learn their trade and older ones to adapt to Madges structures makes it a harder task than if he had this team say for 3 years...
I agree that he signed or resigned 99% of them but he has to get them all to play as a unit....I dont think this happens overnight...Liddle not being included and Simpkins straight in the starting side might give us an idea how far Madge is going to get the right formula and results he needs to get this team winning games..
Laurie has proven he can compete in the NRL arena and Im glad we have him,but he isnt a Teddy or Rts yet....

Could also be we are not winning because structures are wrong..

Completely agree, but how does anyone judge the right structure or the wrong one until the team play as a unit,he may have to change his style if he wants to be successful with this team and club...

Honest question GEO ...what would you do in his shoes,he has an extension of his contract a youthful team mixed with experience and isnt getting the winning results ?

This week will tell us a lot...

15 straight games of 20-40...averaging around 30 a game...the D clearly has massive issues.

Souths could put 50 on us...unless Madge reacts and comes up with some tactics that work. Ultimately, that is his job.

**Adjustments.**

Let's see.

I don’t think finishing in position 12-16 is going to help attract any decent players to the club.

Sack Madge?

I’ve heard lots about how the head coach can’t do everything these days, that’s why they have so many assistants.

Get rid of the defensive coach - he’s stealing our money

I will make my debut this week

In place of kepaoa, ill only be out there a few minutes tho as i intend on squirell gripping gagai and latrell,

Wish me luck
