I questioned dropping Benji last year as something that was big risk and might lose the playing group. I feel worse about moving Doueihi. I just think it's the wrong move against the wrong player. I've supported Madge but I don't agree with this.
There's nothing in Mbye's play that suggests he's a good option at 5/8. I like him playing lock as an extra passer in the middle, but that was with two halves who can control the game. Giving him 5/8 responsibilities is a terrible idea, he lacks the craft to lead a team. Plus, Doueihi is our best kicker and our most intelligent player.
If Madge had a problem with how he was playing he should have worked with him on that.
Tamou has been better the last few weeks but it pisses me off that Joey Leuilua, Moses Mbye, Luke Brooks, James Tamou and Luke Garner have fallen into our side rather than earnt a spot due to excellent form and effort, while Stefano, simpkin and Doueihi are the ones getting shuffled or dropped. I can understand why those lackadaisical players are in our side, but not when players putting in more can't make it.
I don't care about the result, that's really poor, Madge.
I think when you said Mbye was great at lock between to halves that can control the game you surely didnt mean between Brooks and Douhie ?
Brooks who has proven he cant control the team over many years and AD is just learning...Mbye was a renowned playmaker at the Dogs before Ivan offered him a motsa to come here, since he has been here he has been shifted from pillar to post,FB,Centre,Lock utility off the bench and you dont even want to let him have a chance to prove that he can play 5/8..
Another question for you...AD has huge respect for Madge, dont you think the they both would have discussed the move of himself and Mbye during this weeks video sessions and training for the benefit of the team ???
'renowned' half? He was signed on big dollars at the dogs on potential, was utterly mediocre, got moved around and ended up at fullback and they laughed when they managed to offload him to us. Not a renowned half, or a renowned anything. He's a solid utility. I didn't mean to compliment Brooks when I said that I liked Mbye at lock with two organisers playing, I meant only that they were given the role of organising, where Mbye is now going to be given that role. I'm glad you're so full of confidence about this move, but you only have to go as far as Moses Mbye to get a sense of how crazy this move is: "In my opinion Doueihi has been our best player this season" and "Obviously, Doueihi was disappointed with the swap" and "I guess Madge just wanted to change something" and "I was a little bit surprised" and "I am probably not as dominant a figure as Adam" and how about the confidence and conviction in this final statement: "We all know what a quality player Luke is and **maybe** with me there he will see the game from a different point of view, he will **probably** be on the ball a bit more, **I guess**." Phew, can't wait.
