Maguire has lost the sheds which means it’s even more critical he leaves in this day and age.
In the social media age, all the players from the different clubs talk to each other. Our players don’t like Madge, meaning when other players ask about him in the rare possibility we convince someone to join us, the players will tell them and potential deals could be scuppered.
He must go.
Gee..I hope the next guy fairs better with the dressing sheds...Sheens lost the sheds.. Potter lost the Sheds..Taylor never had the sheds... Voldamort burnt down the sheds.. starting to see a pattern here...new sheds..
I agree there is for sure cultural and complacency issues here thanks to being poor for so many years, but doesn't take away from the fact the playing group doesn't play for him, and he must leave imo.
I've heard some terrible things about Maguire's approaches to coaching in recent times which sways my opinion but it should be obvious to all that he has not and will never adapt to the modern game.
He's cooked. Done for. Finished.
The playing group aren’t playing as a team. It’s somebody’s else’s job to stop the try scorer improving the position as an example. It’s attitude and that’s all on the players
It's honestly conflicting as it feels quite similar to Jason Taylor's final months with us and I genuinely hope we don't completely mishandle the situation.
On one hand Madge is one of the only persons within the club that I see with any passion and motivation. Also, his vision for the club is easily perceivable. However, on the other hand there's just something terribly amiss and we look too impassive as a playing group.
It's crazy that we're even having these types of conversations again and there still appears to be little accountability from upper management.
The fact we're not in the position to consistently challenge the competition after a decade, I totally put down to them.
(I don't like saying it about our players) but the soft player mentality, poor player development, the coaches totally out of their depth, the recruitment officer's inability to lure prospective players and bad club perception is due to years of poor judgement and decision making... And a poor organisational culture.
It's a little sad as I still feel the same way I did 4 years ago, that we need to look no further at the whole structure of the club to see where all our problems arise.
For me it's them who've botched everything that is wrong with the club and it's the supporter base that bears the brunt of it.
One thing I will say is that is evident through some of his actions, is that he's clearly trying to compensate for the lack of positive leadership in the team. So the fact he's the only one currently copping it leads me to believe he is also trying to make up for poor governance leadership.
I’ve seen it number of times and not just with this footy club. Hang out a little longer until the boss is removed and we can go back to our slack ways. Well that’s not going to work this time. The Tigers are slowly but surely removing the dead wood and the bad influencers from the playing group. Madge is here to stay. The crap attitude of the players is what has to change and go.
I know for a fact that the vast majority of the playing group is off him.
So unless you think there's going to be astronomical roster turnover, he's a dead man walking because we will not succeed under him. Not to mention his coaching methods are completely outdated.
Players have a lot to answer for but I can't see him here beyond his current contract.
Key question for me is which players?
If Deouhi, Laurie, Ute, Blore, Tuilagi, Simpkins are off him well that's somethingzero but if they are still behind him (which i assume they are) then play on.
I don't know each of their thoughts on him player by player, but most of the squad want him out.
And your source for the players wanting him out is.??
Dont know who is telling crap..but apparently the young guys in our squad and there is quite a few who like Madge and have done well under his coaching...
so you dont know each players thoughts on him but most want him out...why do they tell you and not Pascoe ,Lee or the board if they dissaprove so much...
Don't need to reveal sources mate, just know the playing group want him gone.
Can choose to believe me or not, it's fine by me.
