stirs up great memories, dallas, tommy, les boyd & john dorahy playing for wests.
the chant of wests, wests, wests echoing around the ground.
giving it to silvertails, at lidcombe, the train going past , and it sounding horn.
sitting on the bike track, surrounding the field. :wahoo:
frank hyde calling the game for 2 SM on the side line.

I believe its being used for this weekends clash.

Great for the following reasons:
- the re-launch of the upgraded Campbelltown Stadium
- a foundation jersey vs another foundation team
- MAGPIES CAPTAIN NATHAN WATERS WILL FINALLY MAKE HIS NRL DEBUT!!!!
:wahoo:

Mate, why do you bother 'supporting' this side?

You're obviously still in denial about the JV. You love the maggies so much, stick to watching them play State cup.

Christ, fans like you are the problem with this joint.

Boyfriend….You got that wrong. Its your negativity that is a problem...Each to their own but you just made a negative statement against a fan who made a positive statement. Besides that..the comments made were facts and not opinion. Don't even bother responding...all that is stated is fact and only an idiot would respond ...

All of the early clubs started with bands, stripes or one solid colour, designs with the V’s didn't really start to make an appearance until during the 20's and 30’s, around the same time many clubs started to adopt official mascots and emblems, even St George started with red and white bands hence their original moniker of the Blood and Bandages, from what I can gather Wests first used the Black with White V in 1961.

Most clubs grew and evolved from those early days as manufacturing techniques improved over the decades to a host of different designs except Souffs. :unamused:

If Western Suburbs Rugby League had evolved from the Wests Rugby Union Club (located at Concord) as planned we would likely have worn bottled green instead of black and white, but most of the players from the first grade Wests RU refused to join the new competition so many of our founding players came from the second grade Ashfield RU side instead (their was fierce rivalry between Wests RU and Ashfield RU) and we took their colours of black and white, most of the Wests RU players eventually ended up at the Cumberland Rugby League side of 1908.

It was said on Page 1.

Wests Tigers are wearing the orange jersey on Sunday. They were planning on wearing a dark strip but given the warm weather and sun predicted they have opted for the orange one.

Good idea really. Only would of ended up being used as an excuse come full time.

That sounds like crap.

But then again I'd think if you told me Sheens would only use 16 players in that heat, Id think thats crap too
