MAGPIES TEAM TO PLAY MANLY IN NSW CUP
24/05/2011 3:15:15 PM

Western Suburbs Magpies Coach Leo Epifania has named his side to play Manly at Brookvale Oval on Saturday, May 28, in round 12 of the NSW Cup competition.

1 Cassiano Jr Aiga
2 Taqele Naiyaravoro
3 Andrew Everingham
4 Ryan Millard
5 Lance Siataga
6 Evander Waitoa
7 Joshua Murray
8 David Fifita
9 Troy O’Sullivan
10 Mitch Achurch
11 Josh Davis
12 Rocky Trimarchi
13 David Harris

14 Taraiasi Rasaubale
15 Leivaha Pulu
16 Matt Davidson
17 James Uhatafe
18 Rhys Lenarduzzi
22 Aaron Sweeney

I was wondering where Evander Waitoa had got to. Is he the kiwi halfback we signed this year? Anyone seen him play? I know this is supposed to be a second string state cup side, but there is some talent there. Fifita, Davis, Evander, Davidson and Pulu.

I think this should be a competitive team, however considering I haven't seen any of their games this year I might be wrong.

How has Matty Davidson gone since coming back. I heard nothing but good reports about him before his illness….

One player to watch out for is the winger, Taqele Naiyaravoro. He is eligible for the NYC and is Fijian like Marika Koroibete. Naiyaravoro stands at 196cm and weighs in at 111kg though, so he's effectively Galloway's height but slightly heavier and obviously has speed.

It will be interesting to see how he develops as he has 3 obvious advantages in size, speed and strength, but skill and an overall ability to read and play the game remain the unknowns.

I noticed that he came off the bench in the 14-14 all draw with the Gold Coast a few weeks back, but he has a couple of slick wingers ahead of him in the NYC at the moment…Or he is being toughened up with a view for bigger things down the track.

Good luck to the Magpies, last time I saw them play it was against Norths, who had a couple of Souths NRL players, including Wesser in the team and it was a tough afternoon for Wests. Don't know what Manly is like, could be a different story this week.

Thanks Willow. Is he the guy that was spotted playing for Fiji in the national side?

What about the other Fijian that played in the trials for us - what happened to him? A 5/8 wasn't he?

Manly have not informed NSWRL of their side for this weekend at time of publishing

I believe he was in the same squad as Koroibete. Not Alipate Noa is the other bloke who played in the trials. No idea where he ended up.

Yeah I was watching him play on Saturday! He is a big boy! Tank mk ii

**Manly Sea Eagles Vs Western Suburbs Magpies**

Brookvale Oval, Saturday, May 28
**Kick-off:** 3.00pm
**Referee:** Gavin Morris

**Summary:**

Both sides are coming off hard-fought wins against good opposition here in the second ‘fibros V silvertails’ clash of 2011\. Last weekend Manly shocked the then second placed Cronulla 20-10 at Brookvale and Wests grinded out a 16-4 victory over Wentworthville at Campbelltown Stadium. Andrew Everingham continues to be a pillar of strength for the Magpies in both attack and defense. The lanky centre is their go to man on the field and was superb last weekend.

For Manly, Michael Oldfield continues to impress and wouldn’t be far off gaining NSW Cup Representative honours ahead of State of Origin Game Three. Manly have also been strengthened with the inclusion of junior representative centre Josh Portlock who makes his return from injury. Portlock partners Dean Whare in a centre pairing which ranks as one of the best in the competition.

**Game Breaker:**

Ben Shorter - Shorter continues to find the line for the Sea Eagles and his try-scoring form isn’t going unnoticed by NRL coach Des Hasler.

**Prediction:** Manly to win in a free flowing affair.
