Maguire calls for an attitude adjustment

Maguire is a good coach the players have to turn up BJ & LUCY did some good things but BJ is easily put of his game BENJI was very ordinary we seemed a little better when Walters moved a bit wide in attack and he's strong in defence if MBYE is fit he comes back to the centres AD to fullback wingers looks like you need height these days so we need to choose between Jennings Nofo @ CT
I'd slot Billy to 5|8 Benji to half J REY to the bench.
In the forwards we have some willing players but the Knights pack seemed huge compared to ours injuries will play a major part on the pack and bench that is selected

The coaches change, some of the players change but somethings remain the same.
No consistency, no heart, no progress... Been hearing it for close on a decade.

Just another blow hard coach is Maguire .. keeps selecting players that have failed previously and will fail again . After 30 minutes basically changes multi positions on the run when these positions should of been finalised mid week.
I have no confidence that Maguire will be any different to an other coach the club has had over the years.
The coach can ramble on all he likes about mental attitude but if a player has not got the ability to compete at this level it is just mute! Even with the addition of some fresh faces this club still has a large portion of players that are not at the standard required ! When a 36 year old player in his swan song year is the best player on the park for you there are major issues with the quality of player that is on the park around him!

It's not the NFL. There's only so much he can do with 4 replacements. Then there's the whole sticking solid thing. He can't make wholesale changes after one shocker. They have to address it as a team. If it happens again, wield the axe. I don't get how blokes who do this for a progression can be so bad.

It’s time to stop playing players out of position. The knights played to our weaknesses. They bombed Corey, then Nofa. They rolled us up the middle and junior of junior owned the park. Sure it was a scrappy game in parts, but the knights had a plan and it worked. That said, we could have won that game with more effort at crucial times in the game. 😫

While Madge is right in his comments about attitude, I thought the Knights really outsmarted with a well executed game plan.

A poor performance all round for us.

More like a team adjustment is required
But it won't matter now
Comp will be over this week

That would be entirely appropriate considering our position on the ladder.

But he’ll pick Nofo again so what’s the point ?

Tsk tsk!!! Nofo is a tiger! We support him no matter what! Plus he’s loyal. Plus he tries super dooper hard every week. And he’s also got so much potential! Maybe it’s just cos our pack didn’t dominate this week?
Madge definitely has to pick Nofo!!!

Before you punt Nofo, who did have a poor game (but never stopped having a go running the ball back and trying), someone needs to have a look at the other winger. Gee Whiz.

Jennings reminds me of them goats that run along and then just fall over with stiff legs and everything for no reason. Actually, maybe not, because the goats do run at some stage.

That bloke is a JOKE with a capital F!

Starts with the coach. If he doesnt punish the entire team and have them smashing tackle bags all week then we know where the weak attitude comes from.

The coach made wholesale changes during the game ..

It was not just the missing of tackles that was a problem especially on the RHS it was the fact that the entire defensive structure on the RHS went missing. That try where Nofo was vainly trying to cover 20 mtrs on the goal on his own marking 3 players was U7s stuff.Nof is not a great defender but nobody could have stopped that, more work defending as a unit should be the highest priority at training this week hitting tackle bags does not give you that

One of the most accurate posts I have read on here Swordy.

You all know my feelings on Jennings - they won't change.

I would like to say about Nofo, he puts in the effort, yesterday he did a lot of running sideways, even up to 30 or 40 metres.

What I don't understand is - in the last quarter maybe longer - he started running backwards, the Knights defence wasn't that good that you need to do that.

Maybe he thought he was Dave Bolton resurrected.

Yes certain players need to own it but i really didnt like the look of the right edge. Its asking for trouble. Split up the Leiluas!

Ha ha ha love the goat comparison. I don’t understand why players run back toward their own goal line? Corey was doing that as well.

Well Bolton ran backwards because the defence was up too quick, he believed in running backwards and sideways to an extent until a hole opened up and then you take your chance.

I remember being at the SCG and he basically ran backwards for about 25 metres with the crowd laughing at him, before the hole opened and he scored about ten metres to the side of the post. He was playing for Great Britain.

No such reasoning for Nofo I think.

Did anyone else get the feeling that Newcastle were almost on purpose goading the Leilua's to put each other off their games

Having them together in the same side if they can't stay focussed on footy could be a serious liability

They certainly failed the discipline test yesterday
