Maguire Signs Until End of 2023

we are cooking!!! it just needs to happen on the field and have winning results!!! I think someone said - it doesn't matter win, lose or draw as long as we gave our all, that's what counts... again though I hope we still win!!! lol

PS. on the email I got - man he looks really old! stress is showing but hopefully it will bear good results for him and the club in future... GO WT!!!

We are setting a solid foundation for the future and the team knows who is the boss so you buy in or go elsewhere.

Nofoluma next and a second rower and 2021 is looking a hell of a lot better than it was 1-2 months ago.

I thought the full season memberships I get for my daughter and me was going to see a building year but the signings have me a lot more optimistic about our chances and I truly think we may surprise a few.

It's certainly an unusual position for us WT fans. Solid consistency and stability with our coach, it's a new feeling.

Very pleased with Madge re-signing for more years, we really seem to be fixing all our off-field issues.

Great news on top of the recent player signings, hopefully more good news to come prior to the season kicking off.

Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm that Head Coach Michael Maguire has extended his contract with the club until the end of the 2023 NRL season.

Already contracted with the club for the 2021 season, the two-year deal will begin from the start of the 2022 season and will see Maguire become the second-longest serving coach in Wests Tigers history (behind Life Member Tim Sheens).

A two-time Premiership-winning coach with Wigan (2012) and South Sydney (2014), Maguire joined Wests Tigers at the start of the 2019 season on a three-year deal. Maguire has coached 44 games in his two seasons so far — chalking up his 100th win as an NRL Coach in a Round 7 victory over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs earlier this year.

Wests Tigers Chair Lee Hagipantelis said he was delighted to see Maguire remain with the club.

“The extension of Michael’s contract affirms our faith in him as the coach that Wests Tigers needs to continue to move forward,” Hagipantelis said.

“He is completely aligned with our passion to the club and is absolutely committed to its long-term and sustained success.

Michael represents all of the qualities that identify Wests Tigers — that is, hard work, passion and an insatiable drive to succeed.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to congratulate him on this extension and express our continued support to him for the 2021 NRL season and beyond.”

Wests Tigers Head Coach Michael Maguire said he was excited for the strong future of the club.

“I’m really pleased to be able to re-sign with Wests Tigers,” Maguire said.

“We’ve put a lot of work in over the last couple of years and I’m seeing plenty of change for the club to move forward in a big way.

"We’re all not happy with where we’ve been and everything we do now is about moving us forward towards a Premiership.

“I love the people here and the passion around the organisation,” he added.

“The more I see people with a connection Wests Tigers, the more I see the hunger for success. This is a massive club with an incredibly rich history, and we’re all determined to grow this year into a really strong season.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe added his congratulations to Maguire and said the continuation of his tenure was a positive move for the organisation.

“As a club, we’re really thrilled with the appointment of Michael,” Pascoe said.

“Not only does this provide him with further security, it also provides our entire football program with a strong sense of direction. We have absolute faith in Michael and our football department in the sustainable team they are building here.

“Michael is a fierce competitor, and we love that,” he said. “He shares the same set of values that our club is built on with his drive and passion for success.

“Together, we are building a football department, a team and a club that our Members and fans are proud of and Michael is certainly the right man to continue that.”

Coach sorted
Forward pack is almost there.
Halves still questionable.
By the sounds of it our youth coming through is going to be top tier.
A lot to be excited about 😊 our clubs seems so much more professional even in the space of a year.

It’s all become very exciting heading into 2021.

Let’s hope he sticks around for his contract! Im sure he will. Would be nice to have a coach for more than 2 years

Coaching stability a nice thing to have. Now time to get onfield results

Updated thread title to reflect the official news.

Needs a hyphen in re-signs as resigns is not a good look..

I'ts a line in the sand...results need to follow

I'd already fixed it.

Great move forward.
Gives the Coach, Club and players a sense of stability in planning for success in future seasons.
He has done a good job with limited resources and roster leftover restrictions.
No reason to be anything but “optimistic” for coming seasons under his stuardship.
