Maguire will wait and see with Farah but won't take risks

I love grub but i think if Madge plays Farah he misses out.as benji can spend time at dummyhalf if need be.....if Madge were to keep grub and Farah in the team who misses out? Huth plays massive minutes for us, Twal is the inky specialist prop on the bench and ET literally imbodies the tigers.....clutch oh I don’t think so

I agree re ET. All heart.

ET has been great of late. He does all the dirty work and gives everything. If we make it through next week he has to have a place somewhere in my opinion.

In the last 2 games our halves have been receiving quick clean ball from DH and as a result Brooks and Marshall have probably played their best games of the season. And points have flowed according Farah has not been able to provide that. Grub has also provided energy and spark. Would anyone really consider changing this simply to play someone who would more than likely breakdown in the first 10.

Don’t forget our last two games have been against a team that dogged it and a team coming second last.
I very much doubt Farah will be fit to play, but if our halves didn’t look good in the last fortnight they never would have.

As emergency hookers go he’s far from the worst option. You can see how much extra defence is having to be done by playing Marshall/Reynolds at 9

I agree. Another aspect of playing Benji/Reynolds dummy half combo is that for the first 30 minutes of the game we are defending with 6 forwards in the middle (ie not 5 forwards and a dummy half). I think that helps with the defensive grind you get in the early stages of a game, especially against a big pack of forwards.

The downside is that we can be a bit clunky in attack because we effectively have only one half. However, in a knock out game against the Sharks I think that sacrificing a little in the attacking department in order to shore up our defence is a worthwhile compromise.

Who then went out the next week and flogged the Titans 38 - 4. I wonder why decided to dog it against us ?

Two words, sounds a bit like Rathan Gown.

Decision will be made on Farah tomorrow morning. Mbye also ran today. https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/09/02/tigers-set-tuesday-deadline-for-farah-to-make-call-on-final-fling/?utm_source=NRLTWContent&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=NetworkContent

Seriously? Haven't been watching the news and heard about Nathan Brown?
Besides, the Titans are a bigger mess than Newcastle, long way last, and get flogged by everybody.

Tigers set Tuesday deadline for Farah to make call on final fling

Robbie Farah’s hopes of playing in Sunday’s do-or-die clash against Cronulla will be determined on Tuesday morning. The Wests Tigers have decided they want to avoid a circus in the lead-up to the game at Leichhardt Oval and could rule the hooker out of the match as early as Tuesday morning.

Farah, who will retire at the end of the season, met specialists on Monday and took part in a range of tests in a bid to play in the club’s crucial match against the Sharks at his beloved Leichhardt Oval. He will wait and see how he pulls up on Tuesday before making a decision, however the veteran still appears at long odds to feature in his side’s must-win game.

The Tigers are optimistic about their chances of playing finals football and don’t want to rush Farah back prematurely if he can play the next week. NRL.com understands the Tigers will only name him in their team on Tuesday afternoon if he is a genuine chance of playing.

Skipper Moses Mbye is also racing the clock to return from the hip injury he suffered a month against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium. It’s understood Mbye had a run on Monday. He has been receiving plasma injections in the hope of playing again this season. If he’s declared fit it could result in Esan Marsters losing his spot in the starting side, with Paul Momirovski almost certain to retain his position in the team given his strong showings in recent weeks.

Momirovski could be forced to the wing if Mbye returns in the centres, meaning Robert Jennings or David Nofoaluma could struggle to retain their position on the wings.

Of course I have. I just find that sort of explanation to be very shallow. For example: The knights didn't turn up today because (insert excuse du jour here) and were soundly thrashed. However they did turn up the next week and won comfortably. Or, they didn't turn up next week either, but their opponents are an even bigger basket case and turned up even less and so were beaten.

At the end of the day it doesn't explain anything. It simply diminishes the win.

That made me laugh - to suggest that Nofoaluma could miss out at the expense of Jennings. Nofa is in the form of his life.

Lol, Reynolds had very little to do with our victories. His service out of dummy half is not fast.

Just your opinion TB,I had the pleasure of watching the WTS demolish the Knights when they played at Campbo….when Grub came on the level of enthusiasm and spark lifted to another level, the team didn't capitulate as they used to do...as far as beating the Dragons on Sunday,Grub once again provided the enthusiasm and spark to get the team home....Peter Stirling who I consider one of the greatest halfbacks to play the game said 'Reynolds has been very good again today, his service from dummy half has been excellent'...so I think I will take the comment from someone who knows the game well, rather than a critic who may know a lot less....Grub has been great and had he not had injuries we may have been in the top 8 a fair while ago...

I wouldn’t play Farah this week simply due to the injury risk. We are better against finals sides with Farah fit as the halves will get limited time with the ball and you need an attacking threat out of hooker. He is straight in for the finals if we make it. The only way Farah is in the squad this week is off the bench in place of Reynolds.

I like Reynolds off the bench against a tiring Sharks forward pack against Woods and Fifita.
Give Farah another 2 weeks.

Brooks shining against weaker opposition has raised the typical argument he’s better without Farah which I don’t agree with. Brooks has been good most of the year with the exception of a few games. It’s the forwards who are making the difference. Most of Benjis damage is from 5/8 in attack.

The Sharks will be much tougher opposition than what we have faced in the last two weeks. They are strong across the park and it was only failure to convert tries that cosy them the win yesterday. Our fate will rest with how well our forwards are at matching them.

@Telltails Madge won’t grasp at straws, the team’s performance over the last two weeks should tell him that they play better without Farah, who is one of the best West Tigers ever, he will choose him at #21 but keep the same team as last two weeks

I'm a Robbie fan but I suspect he's played his last game.

The risk is far too high to play him this week and if we win it would be foolish to change a winning team to bring in someone who hasn't played for a month.

The longer he doesn't play and we keep winning, the less likely the possibility of him taking the field again (injuries aside). It's a sad way to finish but I think he probably realises it himself.

I don’t think he’ll play, but everyone saying they’ll leave it in the hands of the coach. I’m sure the coach won’t cop it if Farah went down in the first 5 minutes like Mbye did.
