Maguire will wait and see with Farah but won't take risks

Farah is a champion but should not play same as mmbye. Reynolds is playing well and adding to the side.
if Mmbye is fit he probably goes to fullback and thompson to wing you cant move momorovski he is a centre not a winger i think

In the last 2 games our halves have been receiving quick clean ball from DH and as a result Brooks and Marshall have probably played their best games of the season. And points have flowed according Farah has not been able to provide that. Grub has also provided energy and spark. Would anyone really consider changing this simply to play someone who would more than likely breakdown in the first 10.

Lol, Reynolds had very little to do with our victories. His service out of dummy half is not fast.

Just your opinion TB,I had the pleasure of watching the WTS demolish the Knights when they played at Campbo….when Grub came on the level of enthusiasm and spark lifted to another level, the team didn't capitulate as they used to do...as far as beating the Dragons on Sunday,Grub once again provided the enthusiasm and spark to get the team home....Peter Stirling who I consider one of the greatest halfbacks to play the game said 'Reynolds has been very good again today, his service from dummy half has been excellent'...so I think I will take the comment from someone who knows the game well, rather than a critic who may know a lot less....Grub has been great and had he not had injuries we may have been in the top 8 a fair while ago...

Yes "enthusiastic", "spark" are great. But can you really point towards actual plays or positional play that really made a difference? He did that tackle break that was really good but I cant see the other things.

Your comment about "I think I will take the comment from someone who knows the game well, rather than a critic who may know a lot less": take what you deem good for you. Sterlo knows more than me but I'm not sure he will always speak his entire mind on a television show. Moreover, if you don't want to listen to me, listen to the coach. Do you feel that he would keep Reynolds over a recovered Farah? Did you see him trying to get Reynolds back into the squad as fast as possible?

And finally, regarding service out of dummy-half do you see, with your eyes that those passes out of dummy half are fast, well-targeted and sometimes putting the defense in two minds? Dont wait for Sterlo to answer for you.

Firstly,J.Rey is not a seasoned top NRL or rep hooker..he was asked to do a job in a position he is not familiar with, very similar to Momo on the wing,he is a centre and is now showing how well he can play in that position.
Some people are quick to bag Grub because he is on big money and has been injured for a long while,Ivan is at fault there with the big money, however,at the time it seemed a good purchace.
Who else can we put in that position that has the same credentials as Farah within the club? I would be very happy if Madge keeps this particular rotation going the way it is...its a winner ...Grub has also stated in an interview on an NRL show that he is happy to do as the coach wants whatever it is to benefit the team...Grub knows he is on the outer at the club, but still puts in 100 percent to help the team...
If in your opinion his service is slow and not to standard,at least try and support him in trying his best for the team....

He could play: Robbie in the running for miracle return
By Christian Nicolussi

September 2, 2019 — 7.49pm

Wests Tigers hero Robbie Farah took a step closer to returning for a remarkable Leichhardt Oval swansong when he ran for the first time at Concord Oval on Monday.

Now Farah will see how he recovers before he meets with Tigers coach Michael Maguire to decide if he is included on an extended bench for Sunday's top-eight shootout against Cronulla.

Just 23 days after he cracked the top of his tibia against Canterbury, Farah went for a light gallop with the rehabilitation group. He also ran on an anti-gravity treadmill, known as the AlterG, where he increased the intensity from his first hit-out last week.

The tough-as-nails No. 9 remains at long odds to play but has worked around the clock to give himself an unlikely shot at a return.

Maguire does not want the headache of the final-round showdown being hijacked by Farah's availability but also has an enough respect for the club legend to give him every chance to do the impossible.

Should he fail to be fit, Farah is every chance to return for week one of the finals if the Tigers beat the Sharks.

There is also the very real fear Farah's broken leg becomes ''fair game'' for the Cronulla players and the crack in his tibia becomes a full-blown fracture.

"I'll sit down with him tomorrow to see where he's at and work out the next stage,'' Maguire told the Herald. "He ran at training today. It wasn't a lot, but he did what he was meant to be doing. Now we need to work out where he's at over the next 24 hours.

"I'll be transparent, and there's no point trying to hide from this one because it becomes a media circus.

"Potentially, he might be available. Running is one thing, but playing rugby league is another thing.

"I'll talk to the physios and doctors; he'll keep doing his rehab and what he needs to do.''

Farah has remained upbeat despite scans confirming the worst news a few weeks ago.

The 35-year-old, however, also knows he would not be able to live with himself if he did not do everything possible to give himself one last shot at a fairytale comeback. He has surrounded himself with good people, including Tigers physio Pete Moussa and his brother Eddie, who is on the South Sydney medical staff.

Farah has already made it known he will not play if he thinks he could pose a risk to his team's finals hopes.

Victory to the Tigers or Cronulla will decide who scrapes into the top eight, and club officials have declared the game at their spiritual inner-western Sydney grounds a sellout on Sunday night.

Josh Reynolds, who celebrates 150 NRL games, has been coming off the bench to play hooker with Farah's good mate, Benji Marshall, given the starting dummy-half honours the past fortnight.

"Robbie's spirits are good, he's been no different to how he has always been, and he will do what is best for the team because he knows how hard we've all been working to get into this position,'' Maguire said.

Regardless of whether Farah plays, Tigers fans will be hoping the form of halfback Luke Brooks continues.

"Brooksy has taken real control over this team the last couple of months and his football has gone to another level,'' the coach said.

Maguire has worked with some of the toughest players in the game but would not get drawn into the debate on Monday night about how Farah compared to South Sydney enforcer Sam Burgess when it came to playing with pain.

Farah farewelled the Campbelltown faithful last Saturday week when the Tigers annihilated the Newcastle Knights. The club have already planned for similar celebrations at Leichhardt, the ground Farah calls his favourite and where he was hailed a hero when he scored a try in his 300th celebrations recently against North Queensland.

Geez I really hope sanity prevails over sentimentality here. As much as I like Farah, it would be a really dumb decision to play him, imo. He cops a whack like you said and he’s gone with possibly more damage done to his body & we’re down a player in the most important match or our season.

It could just be that the opposition has been weak, but we have really clicked as a team in the last 2 weeks with the hooker/half/five eighth combinations Madge has been playing, scoring an unprecedented 40 plus points in both matches - why on earth would you even think about messing around with those combos now?

I understand the sentimentality behind it, Robbie’s last ever game, Leichhardt Oval and all, but do we want to play finals football this year or what? Going into such an important game with a key player carrying an injury like that is just asking to be defeated. Sorry Robbie, but we need every advantage we can get so we must have our strongest 17 on the field on Sunday and I’m sure you would rather enjoy your moment in the spotlight at the ground after the game than from a hospital bed!

Insert ''I'll trust Madge's judgment'' post. Until Farah goes down after 5 minutes and Madge and the medical staff get labeled incompetent and indicative of the mediocre organization we are.

Or Farah kicks the winning FG at 89min 45seconds to send WT into the finals with a broken leg..

I'm hoping Madge is using the Farah circus as a media lightning rod to keep the focus off the team and on a non issue that is Farah playing the most important game of the season with a cracked tibia...

Robbie, thanks a bunch. Enjoy the day from the stands. You've done your bit.

I like the enthusiasm Reynolds has added in defence , he has upped the ante with our line speed in particular

The combination of Marshall and Renolds from dummy half is a good mix and really exposes the edges of opposition defences as well as late in games exposing the middle

When Woods and Gal are getting tired late in the game , hopefully we can take advantage

Farah will run out as Captain, play until the painkillers wear off and Reynolds will finish the game.
Farah just being on the field will be enough to inspire us to victory.

Robbie Farah is expected to train with the Wests Tigers tomorrow morning as part of his bid to play this week. He will be named in the squad. I’m amazed he is even being considered. One tough hombre @9NewsSyd @NRLonNine

@MAGPIES1963 could be. I think this is playing out perfectly so far. Robbie may have play his last ever NRL game so let’s talk about that for a few more days. Oh and Gallen hates us and thinks Cronulla must win for him because he’s such a big star.
