Manly did it, and they are certainly seeing the benefits now.

I suppose it would be Bucket's decision but would also be interesting from a board perspective who have backed him up to now.

I think he's gone regardless from here on out. He'll see out his 3 yrs though imo. The clubs hands are tied.

I'm not sold on this. What if we win the comp this year and next ? Where do you draw the line ?
Going forward I would hope the board learns to not back an inexperienced coach and state he gets his 3 years no matter what. It's just as dumb as signing players to long term contracts ala Farah.
I think though that he has done a lot of damage to the club and he will have to get really good results to get another contract.

If he somehow gets us into the 8 this yr he should be re-signed on the spot.
@innsaneink said:@sideline eye said:Marina Go has said many times, on behalf of the board, that JT will see out his contract with their full support. Yes, I know some will say that this is a death sentence for a coach but I believe her, given the amount of times she has said it. Wouldn't it be good if we could all just move on accepting that JT will be the coach until the end of 2017 at least and focus on supporting the coach and team. Am I dreaming? Probably.
Thats how Im seeing it, and all Im trying to do.
Others it seems would prefer to bash their heads against a wall, arguing about something thats unlikely to happen :brick:

Question for the JT critics. How many of you expected us to make the finals this yr under Taylor? I'm assuming very few. So, how can us missing out on the 8 be considered a failure?

If we said he wouldn't make the 8, then we would be right'
if he doesn't make the 8 then he HAS failed, even more so , now that some of the usual top 8 teams have imploded, or lost most of their points
When people had an opinion on where we would be this year, I don't think any of them counted on Manly, Easts, Souths being at the bottom, equal or behind us.
It's a lot easier to make the 8 than the last couple of seasons

You absolutely amaze me GT.
We win games and it is because they were under strength or they played really bad against us. So it is not how we played, it is what the other team did or didn't do.
Now on the ladder, it is not that we have accumulated 'x' amount of points by winning games, it is because other teams have imploded or are going to lose points for cap cheating.
Can we ever win anything or do well in your eyes - I don't think so. Lol
@GNR4LIFE said:Those teams playing badly all of a sudden doesn't make us a top 8 side by proxy. We finished 15th last yr and some only thought we were going to get worse.

Jeez , you read some weird stuff into other people's post.
I'l try again,
In the beginning of the season when we were all talking about where we would come,
I doubt that anyone , when making predictions , would have thought that Mamly , the Roosters, and Souths would have been in the bottom 4\. Would you disagree on that????
Therefore There are holes in the top 8 that VERY FEW would have envisaged.
Also Parra losing their points , puts them in with the other three mentioned teams.
So yes , take those teams out of the top 8, and I would say that it is a lot easier to make the top 8 this year than in the last few years.
I never mentioned games that we've played, but since you have,
Its fair to say that we've hardly set the world on fire in a lot of our games.
We got points , and that's fine. But if you are satisfied with what we've done so far, well good for you.
And you may be surprised, but EVERY game IS , about not only , "how we played, ) but also "what the other team did, or didn't do) Both things have a bearing on games
