Exactly Happy. People were screaming for years for a coach to do a cleanout. Taylor does that and the same people scream at him for doing it.

We were poor last year no doubt. But a large part of that was a massive overhaul of how we play footy. Changing a side from being heavily reliant on one player to a side that now wins more games without that same player was a massive achievement. Sure it meant a tough period but we are slowly starting to benefit from it.

Once again, that doesnt mean Taylor should stay but I am confident that Taylor will be a massive influence on any future success we have, even if he isnt here to take the credit.

What i dont think you guys understand…..

Not many are disagreeing with Taylor's principals. He has made some hard calls and he is doing some good work in putting in some good structures around the place. He has improved things on the injury front and is trying to fix our defence and our roster. I think he has done some good things around the place.

However coaching is not all about "structures and systems" It is not all about game plans. It is not all about talking a good game.

Coaching at the NRL level is about being a great man manager and intense motivator which is crucial to an NRL team succedding.

The guy could have the best game plans, best "structures and systems" in the world yet if blokes dont want to run through a brick wall for him he will always he a lowly NRL coach.

The jury is out on Taylor well and truly on this and rightly so. Lets see how we go when the pressure in on these last 10 weeks.

I dont disagree with anything you say apart from this "Not many are disagreeing with Taylor's principals."

Barrett was a shocking appointment. I would have Taylor every day of the week over him.

A Rookie coach who had done nothing to earn the role.

Was an over rated player as well.

How many would swap Taylor for Barrett?

I still for the life of me cannot figure out why Manly thought Barrett was an upgrade from Toovey.

He was a political appointment and the owners liked him.But like most ex players has not the faintest idea on how to get the best out of his team.It is no coincidence that the best coaches where average players some not even first grade standard but obviously good students of the game.

Steve I'm not spinning anything at all

Read through the Potter threads , I wanted him to get a go with his own squad and on calls

Now I'm offering the exact same support to Taylor, I thought Taylor had it wrong with starting with Halatau , read through that thread as well

I don't back Taylor at every corner , I just defend him from people who think that 2005 is going to return tomorrow and we can play football that isn't what all the continual contenders actually play week in week out

The difference is I see the problems that nincompoop Mayer created and we are still paying for and see the limitations in our squad at the moment

You see our squad as Top 8 material , I don't at the moment , I just see potential still and potential means jack if it doesn't bloom from there and in many cases it hasn't on a consistent basis

I see Taylor making decisions with this team that no other coach has had the balls to make over the life time of this club and I reckon he will probably get the sack before he sees the fruition of his work as well

If Taylor succeeds the Wests Tigers succeed long term , it should be something every Wests Tigers supporter prays for to the football Gods before going to bed every night

Not bag him out

Great post! From memory the Raiders weren't flash for a while when Ricky took over and if it hadn't been for the family connection keeping him in the job he would in all likelihood have been sacked. Look at where they are now. Takes time to turn a team around. Congratulations to Marina Go and the board for bringing stability to the club and enabling the WT to move forward. "We have also reached a new milestone in 2016 by surpassing our highest ever membership total, currently sitting at 13,000 members strong!". WOW GREAT NEWS!! GO Marina!
