@Swordy said:I just knew JT would get blamed for this eventually. Took until page 4, but it got there.
He is also under investigation for the Wanda Beach murders, disapearance of MH370 and being near the grassy knoll.
Seriously.
@GoldXR50Leroy said:The unfortunate event occurred at a sanctioned Wests Tigers event for administrive staff so someone has to ask, what happened to the RSA, for Mark to have done what was allegded then the person that kept plying him with booze should be held accountable.
@cat-party said:You guys are bloody idiots. If you get done for sexual harassment in a modern workplace you are gone, no matter who you are. End of story.

We don't even know the facts or events that took place. If it was isolated or a series of instances. Just because a board makes a collective decision it doesn't mean it is right or wrong it could just be a decision that sees everyone walk away with the least amount of egg on their faces, given that the matter if protracted will be played out in the media.
It is also the clubs duty to provide a safe working environment for employees. Safe doesn't just refer to physical it also refers to mental.

You don't have to have legal knowledge to know that this was a serious enough situation that they had to 'cover their collective backs' and seeking legal advice would be the sensible thing to do, especially in light of the media scrutiny which will no doubt ensue. All parties involved probably were advised to also seek legal counsel. Whether it was physical, mental or both, it was serious enough for Mark to have to resign. And yes, I totally agree it is the clubs duty to provide a safe working environment for employees against physical and mental harassment.

While you were on "leave " there were comments about RF making sexist comments and being in trouble with Go so I reckon if buckets did something wrong involving a female staff member he would get the bullet. Is it right ? In a male dominated environment probably would have been swept under the carpet but things have changed a lot now so I reckon he has made a mistake and as Willow said will pay for it for the rest of his life.
The worst thing with this story is it was dealt with internally by Pascoe, he was given as harsh a punishment without being punted as you will get, and Go agreed & signed off on it. When JT got word of it all, he complained to another board member who has brought it all up again and demanded O'Neill get the punt. Doesn't take much to guess which side of the board that person was from….
Which must suggest that it is far worse than what is being reported and had been multiple situations
O'Neill could take the club for everything including the kitchen sink otherwise …..

If this is true, that Pascoe dealt with it then JT wanted more done , than gee our coach has a long memory and likes to hold grudges.
If what you are saying is true (and I have serious doubts), it would have gone to a board meeting at which the majority voted for him to be allowed to resign. This isn't a Wests/Balmain thing, it is a simple matter of misbehaviour by a senior manager. JT had him sacked via some back door route? Nobody ever went to the moon? Give me a break. All this happened after an independent investigation.

If you want to believe the spin that WT have put out publicly, go for it. There was an internal investigation, from which Pascoe determined punishments agreed to by Go, and for that matter agreed to by the NRL Integrity Commission. It was to end here until JT stuck his nose in with some other board members.
If the punishment which the CEO determined & the chair agreed was the correct outcome, and the NRL Integrity Commission agreed was the correct outcome, any smart board accepts those recommendations.

What happened has already been mentioned in this thread, that is 100% on the mark. Was one compromising situation.
