Amazing how he can clearly define to the newest member of the squad what he wants out of them, yet players who have been there with him now 12 months seem all at sea.

Lol,

Makes you wonder if it is all the the coach, or maybe we have a few 'SLOW' players lol.

Who wouldn't be confused. Read these JT gems:

“Sometimes you’ve got to go backwards before you can go forwards,” Taylor said.

"It's a great lesson for us." Jason Taylor after getting beaten 40-18 by the Sharks

Coach Jason Taylor has spent time explaining to the playing group the reasons behind the move to dump the club captain.

"I've had chats to a couple of individuals," Taylor said. "I'll continue to chat with guys about it because, ultimately, it's going to be really important for everyone to understand really deeply exactly why. I haven't felt an extreme need to do a heap of that at this point."

We have really improved our defense this year. I know the scores and our position on the table aren't reflecting that but we are improving each week."

"The fans will get a good indication on how we are traveling in the second half of the competition and they can make their judgements then."

"I just want to make it perfectly clear that Robbie has been treated with total respect."

You really need to let it go.

Hijacking every thread to put crap on Taylor is not on. BORING!!!!!!!!

Come on mods…this place is getting toxic

Even opposition fans aren't as harsh on our own as we are at times

I agree Taylor and Farah hate should be put on hold until the season starts.

Its pretty obvious Ballin was told he would be starting hooker next year and he rang Farah out of respect.
The issue is Farah is the better player by a long way and with added motivation will start if there is no bias in the selection process. This is why I think the signing is odd as it will confirm an agenda if Ballin starts over Farah assuming he stays.

I think Ballin can turn into a fan favourite very quickly, as long as he stays on the field, and the fans give him a fair go.
Hes a very good, solid player…gives good service and will complement our halves allowing them more resposibility.
He seems like a genuine good guy, never heard of any dramas with him...he and cherry will go well together

Didnt take long

I guess that's your way of saying " I told you so"

I actually feel sorry for Ballin he has done nothing wrong but want to play for our troubled (used to be great) club. I feel he is a shot duck before he even walks through the door. Hope he is a champion for us and plays with all his heart. My previous comments came out of emotion and were wrong.

The more this played out the worse it has got for Ballin. I feel he is a dead man walking before he even pulls on the jersey.

Farah has more strings to his bow - yes. But do we need that now with Moses, Brooks and Teddy? Nope.

However, disregarding individual skills, how do each of them make the team better? Robbie admitted that he will sulk for 2 days after a loss and people have to walk on eggshells. That's a problem. A big one.

A good leader has to be more resilient and positive otherwise they'll drag others down with them. I think you can see that often in our performances where we seem down, out and disinterested. JT made a big point this year about playing for 80 as we never have. We were better this year, but it was still a problem. Maybe some of these off-switches are from the lack of positive leadership around the place?

Even without a C next to his name, he'll be a leader each time he takes the field. So, I think JT will be looking for a behavioral shift, otherwise he will keep him out of the run on side. Maybe that's what JT see's in Ballin over Robbie. A positive professional. He certainly comes across that way in the interviews.

I think JT though this year will just try to lessen Robbie's influence. Him or Ballin will be on the bench and we'll play 2 hookers again.

Seeing as though it turned out to actually be true JT was looking to buy another hooker, I wonder how close we came to getting Damien cook

The way Matt Ballin has dealt with being told he is no longer required at Manly is almost the polar opposite of the way Robbie Farah has dealt with the same situation.

Obviously Farah is he incumbent starting #9 for the Tigers, while Ballin missed last season- but other than that, the situations are strangely similar, but dealt with in a way that should CLEARLY demonstrate both the correct way for players to react, plus the fact that the "Robbie Farah Situation" is not an isolated "Wests Tigers are the only club cutting players" type event.

Safe to say that Ballin is a 'loyal' Manly player, but when given the news his services were no longer required at the club, neither he or his 'agent' have made a public spectacle of the situation, no news leaks, no slanging match. just a professional attitude, from a guy that makes a living playing football.

Farah is also a guy that makes a living playing football. He's essentially a contractor, able to ply his trade with whoever contracts him to do so. In the real world, contracts are torn up, bought out, or changed quite often. Very rarely do these reneged contracts become media spectacles.

Paul Vautin gave Farah the tip on how to deal with it. In some ways, I thought Benji did too. Now the Tigers are putting a living example of how to deal with it within eyesight of him.

I honestly hope, for his sake, that he takes the tip. He will be paid, by the Tigers or whoever. He won't lose money. Hell, he might even have a chance of playing for a team that competes for a finals place next year with some clubs.

I'm a Tigers fan. I've cheered Robbie Farah since he came into my viewing. I don't get to make the call on who stays or goes. That's the coaches & front office that do that. If the coaches feel that the club needs to move on- for whatever reason- then I will go along with it. I'm not in the player meetings, or at training, or watching video of next weeks opposition. I'm not the guy putting forward game plans & asking guys to deploy them on the field. I'm also not the guy that has access to the financial books, or signs the contracts.

I have to assume that the guys that get these board positions, or coaching positions, get them with the knowledge that not all choices will sit well with supporters.

And knowing that Farah was such a popular player at the Tigers, you have to assume that when the decision to move him on was made, it wasn't done so by pulling names out of a hat.

there's a reason. Whatever it might be.

Farah should look at Matt Ballin & take the tip on how to deal with a decision made, before it ruins his next season, and at his age- potentially his career.

It might spur him on to play better than ever one can only hope. Key will be if Farah actually goes to the Dragoons?

It really does defy our suppose cap problems though, if we're paying Robbie to play elsewhere…

It makes about as much sense as the last 70 years of US foreign policy...

Maybe he could run around over there in a practice squad with Hayne, the further away the better.
