Matt Lodge looking for a club

Typical Broncos / Bennett:

Step 1 - Twist the NRL's arm and sign a grub of a bloke on minimum wage in a desperate attempt to try and win a premiership

Step 2 - Play the good guy, saying you want to give him a 'second chance'

Step 3 - Throw him under a bus when he wants a pay increase

And they wonder why nobody likes them.......

I'm all for forgiving people, but the bloke should have been mowing lawns or laying bricks rather than playing an elite level sport that's trying to be more inclusive of women.
 
Keep Matt Lodge as far away as possible from this club. Biggest clown in the NRL, hate the bloke to death. Wouldn’t even take him for free
 
I have tossed and turned on this one a few times.
The speed of the game, his knee and that we now have kept Musgrove, brought Joe & Tamou in = No for me.

We are fine for props we need backrowers/lock & key position players.
 
Nah i think we need to save our $$$ for when a decent halfback hits the market.

I am happy with the rest of our squad, i think it is pretty strong all round.
 
I would be surprised if anyone involved in the club would entertain the thought of bringing him back after we sacked him. If they did I would be questioning their integrity.
Besides, doesn't he hate WT for not sticking up for him?
 
If he plays NRL outside of the Boncos my guess it will be with Souffs.

Bennett brought him to Boncos, saved his career and he played well.

Souffs now have a great backline but forwards are weak. Bennett will be thinking that a cut price Lodge would improve his pack, even if minutes are restricted per game.

$250,000 a year for 2 years, if he leads us to a finals with 150 plus meters each game of the year give him $150,000 bonus a year, coming to $400,000.
 
While I don't like him as a person, you can't deny that he is not one of the best props in the competition. In 2019, Broncos fans would argue he was their best forward. I can't comment on his 2020 form as he barely played and didn't see much of him, and I know there are rule changes, but he is worth considering. We do have a stack of props, but none the quality of Lodge. I don't know how effected he is by the ACL Injury, so I can't comment on that, but we have plenty of guys who have done grubby things off the field who we've taken in (Chee Kam, Packer etc).
