Matthew Lodge Signs With Tigers For 2014

I get the feeling with Potter that front row will never be a position we lack depth in which is great. The Chris Paterson, Bronson Harrison in front row days are well and truly behind us
 
It's called mongrel ,in your face type of forward I thought for many years reading this forum that was the call we need some mongrel forwards ,so the club starts to sign this type, I am loving the direction the club is going.

I assume that they may have released him to free up money to re-sign Proctor. Hope between he and Brown we now have the grunt up front we need.

Basing the above on the fact that the storm released him immediately.

I was just thinking about the speculation about Mansour as i clicked on this thread and saw your comment and my eyes lit up like a xmas tree thinking id clicked onto the thread about him. Needless to say, when i saw the name of the thread i died a little inside.

Hope he's a good signing though.
 
He looks like a footballer. I really like this comment from our CEO re a question why we hear no news about signing players.

@ because you shouldn't read about any player discussions until they are done.
 
It doesn't say he has signed for 2014, I read it as for next year. However WOW, the guy is the real deal. I've seen a bit if him and he looks sensational. Was the best forward on the park in last years 20s origin IMO. Can't believe the storm let him go, as said must have been to retain proctor.

Wonder what this means for Ava and Buchanan…
 
It actually does state in the article that he is joining for 2014\. Exciting!

The 110kg teen is considered one of the best young props in the game and **will join the club on an immediate release this week.**

After Matt Groat, I've learnt my lesson about getting over-excited about an under-20s prop, but this could be a great buy. I've been pretty impressed by the little I've seen from him.

And, smart or not, I don't mind a prop having "harden up c***" written on his taping. We need props who want to play hard.

just watched him in the u/20 origin and i like the look of him made the most yards for the blues and showed a good workrate and works the creases well.
hopefully not a discipline problem.

if we released bmm to replace him with lodge it could turn out to be a good little trade.
well done to potter and the recruitment team for this position that has been lacking for some time.
wonder how long the deal is.
