Geyer - who has made 14 first grade appearances for Penrith since his debut in 2024 - has signed a one-year deal, with his presence at Concord creating further depth on the edge for Benji Marshall and his coaching staff.

Geyer has earnt a reputation as a hard-working defender over his four years in both the NSW Cup and NRL.

The Brothers Penrith junior - who has played right throughout the Panthers’ system - will arrive at the Wests Tigers off the back of several outstanding performances in the NSW Cup throughout 2025, and is widely renowned for his training attitude, application and overall professionalism.

Geyer said he was looking forward to joining the Wests Tigers to begin the 2026 pre-season.

Very excited for the 2026 season to rip in and prove myself in the orange and black. Come pre-season I’ll be hungry and ready to go,” Geyer said.

“It’s a great time to be involved with the club and the chance to work under Benji and be a part of what the West Tigers are building is something I’m really looking forward to.

Wests Tigers Head Coach, Benji Marshall was pleased to be welcoming Geyer into his squad in 2026.

“His performances in the NSW Cup across the last few years have been that of a player ready to take the next step, and whenever he’s been given an opportunity at NRL level he’s shown his qualities which I’m looking forward to seeing more of.

“We’re really excited to welcome Mavrik to the club next season,” Marshall concluded.

I would imagine our ex Panther players would have been consulted prior to signing. The 12 month “sink or swim” concept is a winner in my book, especially with players such as these !

This sounds like it could be a good signing even if he is only half of what his father was.
But can someone gently tell this dude our colours are black, white, and orange.

🙂>>>happy smiling face 🙂...not an aggressive face.

If anyone thinks I am stirring the pot, think again, I am not...and I will not reply to anyone's post after this.

Can people now stop screaming that Benji and Richo have no idea about our shortcomings as a team?

Every single position that has been weak, they've actively gone out to strengthen it.

KPP starter and Geyer and Roberts coming through, along with Godinet in juniors.

I'd rather get these guys by being patient for depth than more Charlie Murrrays and Sukkars. Sorry Tony and Charlie...I'm sure you're both good blokes..nothing personal

Good to see him in the Orange and Black

...and a splash of white

He's average.

Reality is he's Mark Geyer's son and Greg Alexander's nephew. If he was close to good enough, he'd be getting a run in first grade at Penrith. The fact he couldn't crack first grade properly at Penrith with that background suggests there's not much to be excited about.

He's depth for the 4 players I've mentioned. Martin, Sorensen, Garner and Papali'i are genuine first graders. Our depth after Samuela and KPP is Seyfarth and Sukkar. He'll play for us for sure...

Ethan Roberts is an interesting one. He played Indigenous All Stars this year I believe. Didn't get much of a run.

He signed 1yr it’s depth for us. Better than what we have depth wise so it’s an uplift for us squad wise. He wasn’t signed to be starting every week.
