Just a thought experiment here , what if our attack does go better ? What if having AD out wider forces the defence to adjust creating more space inside ? What if the balance on that edge defensively is better ?
Would people be glad about that ? Or is it they just want the current batch gone , because they’re sick of watching them ?

Mbye is an "athlete" but he's definitely not a footballer...

Heard this mentioned about him a bunch of times.

One guy who always looks like his heart just isn't in it.

A few QLDers in the SoO camp think he is a 6, and have been critical of Dogs and WT for playing him out of position.
I personally think it’s a good idea for a young player to play many different positions while learning the game, but it’s a must to settle and specialise at an early stage if you’re going to reach peak performance. Mbye has moved around so much that he is average at all positions but not really good at one. It’s interesting that Blues selectors wouldn’t dream of playing Teddy anywhere but one, while T Turbo would be slotted in at 2,3,4 or 5?

That's weird because they too played in the centres and off the bench.

I don't hate Mbye but I don't think he was a well thought out signing for the tigers.
We all know that, Ivan the stooges recruitment was absolutely woeful.

Madge is now moving Doueihi from 6 to Center with Mbye moving to 6 to partner with Brooks.

A very strange move as many would agree Doueihi has been one of our best on field.

At first I was dead set against it. Doueihi was in form, why move him.

Yet I see the pro's:
Mbye Passes, a lot. Getting the Ball out a lot more.
He has speed.
He has energy.

The cons:
Mbye tends to speedhump in defense. Getting in a good positpion and not stopping rhe player. . Maybe a good reason to not put him at Center or Fullback.

Mbye does not direct a side. Passes a lot and follows the side.

Mbye rarely runs. IMHO a ball running 5/8 is good to have.

I see good pros with Doueihi at center. Can pass. Can Run. Can defend and were leaking tries. Moving Doueihi to center makes him the one who scores or the one to pass to score.

Still dont know about this change...

It's OK if you're the best in a winning side but unfortunately we all know what's been happening and Madge is looking at the options.I think Doueihi could be the perfect lock.On the weekend looks like Madden will get a start probably when Liddle gets a break Mbye to 9 MADDEN to 6.
Mbye's roll should be get the ball wide at every opportunity you give AD & JL every chance to run the ball hopefully AD will still be our best play if he can Douit at 6 he can Douit at 3.

Couple of outcomes to the current scenario

if lineup stays the same:
- they bomb hard and madge goes under even more pressure and scrutiny
- they do well and pressure relieved for the moment, however considering doueihi was one of madges best supporters, i see that relationship being slightly strained if hes taken out of 6 long term

if its a smokescreen:
- sanity prevails at the last minute and doueihi goes to 6, mbye to 13, then maybe they win or lose

main gripe for me, even without any other long standing thoughts on madge that i have, is that its way too soon to be breaking up a halves combo, they should be allowed to keep growing as its been seen that theyve been starting to gel. This constant chop and change in positions does nothing for the flow of the team, both in the halves and the forwards.

If he wants consistency, he should keep picking consistent lineups. The team is, relatively, still quite new. The spine has really just played 8 games together, two of those players have under 10 NRL games experience, and doueihi only has as many games as starting 5/8. Makes zero sense to disrupt that.

It’s definitely a smokescreen. I really don’t want Doueihi to turn into another Mbye where he can’t hold a position. He finally looked like he cemented a position, but he got shifted 🤷‍♂️
