Mbye

@jirskyr he is talking about the grubber kick that takarangi scored off of and the one where it took 3 defenders to take him down and he still reached over and scored.

Moses 'could' have stopped both tries.

First one he could have slid into the space between the ball and Takarangi.

Second one he should have been aware of the tryline and pushed back hard, rather than a passive tackle.

I like Mbye, and he seems a very decent bloke. But he rarely / never makes extra effort plays.

Billy Slater would have prevented both those tries. I don't expect Moses to be Slater, but the extra effort would be nice.

Especially as, somehow, he was made the captain....

Yes and this pretty much sums up our team for me. We lack consistent effort. The first panthers game, the two eels games, the raiders game, just a lack of effort.

I don’t know why we struggle to be motivated, but it certainly makes a difference when we are. I can cop us not being world beaters but all I want to see is 100% effort every week. Look at the difference it makes when guys like Nofo, Marsters & Eiso charge into the line, etc...

@bythebeardofzeus

Matterson needs to be made captain.

We need a real leader.

Then go out and recruit a bunch of hungry blokes, real effort players, who will follow him.

It won't happen, but if we had Matterson + Brandon Smith + Jai Arrow leading the club the culture would change instantly.

For a decade plus we have had Benji, Robbie, Brooks and now Mbye as our key guys. Players who have always been hot one week, warm two, cold three...

And, as result, that has been our teams form line for ages also.

Rocks and diamonds. Guy has ability but lacks consistency and concentration.
He is a wrong person to be the the captain of this club. We need someone with mongrel attitude to drive the forwards and get in the ear of players like him and Elso to get out of the relax mode that they seem to slip in and out in games.

G'day @BalmainJnr: In my opinion, Mbye's body language doesn't display a lackadaisical nature or attitude. I just don't feel he is a wham bam thank you mam type of speaker or bloke, but re your "fire up" yes I couldn't agree more :relaxed:

Mbye has a market Tigers would be dumb if they don’t move him on. He’s not our best fullback, five eighth or centre. He’s just an above average number 14. You can’t spend big money on a utility it’s ludicrous.

A bit of Kurt Gidley in him.

Probably the most realistic player we have a chance of moving on.

@TYGA Bloody Bulldogs, no no don't take Reynolds, and no no don't take MBye. Bet they are laughing themselves silly.

He will be our next hooker.

He should have the captaincy stripped when that drop out bounced between him and Brooks and they both just looked at each other. Absolutely disgraceful play and the epitome of our season really. If this bloke is our captain, then it's clear as day where he's leading us, nowhere.

You're the fullback and the captain, own that ball Moses.

I thought Mbye was alright actually. Yeah he dropped a bomb, that sucks. We made, what, 14 errors total? So 13 other instances of someone stuffing up.

Almost the only bloke to cause Canberra any drama, esp when he started sniffing around the ruck.

Oh, and also it turns out he can kick goals from the sideline, who knew?

Filled a role for us today, thought he went OK. But I'm warming to him as Centre. Isn't as bad as some on here make out.

He made too many errors again tonight. Yes he can run the ball and he showed a willingness to do so tonight for the first time this season! Not sure where that's been. At least partially makes up for his awful defence.

Did anyone see his positioning for their second try? He must have forgotten he wasn't playing left centre!

I hope you have saved every movement of that try to memory BB. You may be cross examined tmrw.
