McIllwrick vs Ballin

Why is he our problem? I understood Matty B took up very little of our cap. Didn't Manly contribute to his salary to get him of their books?

Manly only paid for one year. He is on the books at full freight this year,His deal was signed 3 years ago so it probably good coin. It was a strategic signing to oust Farah. One of the fe every very and decisions made on emotion.

A lot of assumptions being made.

If it contributed to getting rid of our old mate, then Im happy to pay double.

He's a problem? Heard nothing but good things about him from the club.

I think the point was that he was supposed to be bought to play football, not to be a nice guy around the club and we have to pay him whether he plays or not.
Nothing about how he's behaved,

Exactly, id be a top bloke if i was getting paid to pretty much do nothing lol. For all accounts he is great to have around, but when he is chewing up some of your salary cap and has a busted knee then its not much use.

Yeah you don't seem like you'd be a top bloke no matter how much you were being paid…

Well let's hope we've can get more than 20 minutes out of him this time, how old is he again?

I think you are looking at it the wrong way GCT. Besides being a good bloke, he has been an astute buy. No doubt cause for a round of cigar smoking and back slapping by our management.

I hope he gets back on the field, but with two highly suspect knees now, it's going to be a
Day to day thing for the rest of his time here. Cant see how anyone can see him as a good buy.
Manly certainly got one over us with this signing. They knew when to part company with him

You blokes do realize he doesn't rely on his running game , it isn't a strong point

Ballin has a strong passing game and will lead our forwards round the park

He will also help strengthen Liddle's game and help him with his weaknesses

Liddell will play the perfect foil as he is lightning out of dummy half

I swear some live under rocks and have never seen these blokes play

Says the bloke who wants to resign Paps at top dollar just in case Teddy breaks down because he's a junior. You have less of an idea about salary cap management than the club, and that's saying something…

Always good business to retain your best produced from within. But I dare say you will be comforted that Kelly Egan is probably out there now scouring other clubs for NSW Cup standard backs to recruit.

Ironic that you call people out for bringing Farah up for no reason, and now you are doing the same with Taylor.

Ironic that if it were RF in Ballin's position, the possie would be calling for him to be a team player and retire. Interesting how GNR and other possie back ups haven't suggested this option.

Is Ballin being paid $900K a season?

Is Ballin being paid $900K a season?

Hardly relevant CB. It is money which could have been used elsewhere,

Whose money, Manly's? Because that is who is paying the bulk of his contract.

Yeah, we could use Ballin's money to pay Paps $600K a year to play on the wing.

Doesn't matter how much he is getting paid the problem is he is not doing the job he is getting paid for. He may be the best bloke in the world but still not the job he was employed to do.

Regardless, if we are contributing we've had 20 minutes of on field value from him.

You're right, and that's a fair criticism. I'd hope you'd apply the same logic to any other player within the club worth their salt though.

And we got them back double with Tapau and Sironen - Mate, you are so negative it is almost toxic Lol.

Has Tapau only being on the field 20 mins as well? Many have derided us for letting go of Tapau but I don't anyone from Manly would regret legging of Mr Ballin.
