McIntyre

Don’t worry too much about Sam, he is just looking after himself, as he should. Don’t blame him or the club! Good luck to him. There are plenty of back rowers running around with equal or better ability, skill, size, experience and aggression - they’re a dime a dozen. Guarantee, we will pick up someone equal or better for the money that we offered Sam. Go Weststigers!

Apparently we offered him minimum wage. If we can get someone of his ability for minimum wage I’ll grow wings and fly myself into the sun.

Just a question, if the POM knew that the Titans gazumped us on Thursday why did he not post anything until it was rumoured on here?
Maybe he is just a forum member with no more information than the rest of the people on here.

I don’t normally respond to comments like this but I feel this one warrants it.

I don’t speak with club personnel/sources daily.
Last information received was it all done & dusted to the point he was doing prep work with other players in time for training to resume next week.
I only addressed it this morning & not Thursday as I received a couple messages this morning saying he was gone & then reached out to my sources.

Now I also don’t normally slag off on management but this one is completely on them, he agreed a couple weeks ago to a new deal but they have been so focused on JAC that they left it unsigned & the Titans swooped in.
Apparently management can’t multi task.

Thanks for the info. This should get interesting...

Everyone does realise that McIntyre is a lock/prop these days right? He never played second row for us...

He played there a bit for us. Even got named at second row for one game

Unfortunately he is gone, something changed on Thursday but appears Titans came in at the 13th hour with an offer to good to refuse, hence the delay in announcement but certainly caught Madge off guard.

Are we actually chasing Mansour and Roberts?

Of course we are...that's all the talent we can attract.....that I don't need THE_POM to tell us....The sooner we stop the pension signing cycle, the more attractive and harmonious our club will become...Gus like McIntyre and Aloiai see what Packer and Reynolds get paid without busting their ass and say why should I.....

Guys like McIntyre, alioia, garner et al see how much that Reynolds is getting paid and that they are in the NRL team and Reynolds isn’t.

Yea , but Reynolds is 32 , and has a reputation that precedes him . None of those guys have anything remotely close to that . Reputations are earnt not given. Reynolds was paid as such . Unless these guys do something drastic, they will never achieve those heights . Too many player managers promising the world , and short sighted officials paying overs . I really liked Macca , but seriously he was bagged to the crap house before round 1 last year and stepped up to be an average first grader . What happens if it was a flash in the pan , and he levels out to his previous standard . I wish him all the best and a prosperous career , but the titans are throwing a lot of cash around , and I’m not sure if it’s for the better .

I think you may have misinterpreted my post or I didn’t make it clear enough. I’m suggesting that the fact that a player with a SOO past reputation and an unearned but proportional pay packet is left out but that these young players are selected should be encouraging not discouraging.

I was responding to a post that players may leave because of the uneven pay with Reynolds (not a bad argument)

That’s horrendous ! Im hesitant to say he will be any things other than 17th man for his career , but seriously , what the actual . Is that Pascoe or Hartigan ? Why can’t there be a negotiation team and a closing team ? Ie . Once the deal is basically sorted , the legal team takes over . Thats incompetence if true

Yep . I agree with you . It should be an incentive that if you work hard , get the runs in the board , you will get the golden handshake from someone . But it won’t happen when you’re 23 , and it won’t happen unless you put the work in . So many 18-25 year olds feel they deserve something that someone much older than them has spent a lifetime earning . I guess they weren’t taught to temper expectations and all good things come to those who wait .

It sounds like they were holding off in case Jac needed a slight top up , which would have come from McIntyre, in the end they get nothing. It's just embarrassing.

Hopefully the lure of a spot in first grade is enough to entice some young gun stuck behind others.
Could go for Tupinoa for 22 and hope Roosters let him go early. Can't see that happening though. We could double his salary though

Maybe Pascoe couldn’t find McIntyre’s contract and get him to sign it because it was in the same drawer as Robbies
