Unfortunately he is gone, something changed on Thursday but appears Titans came in at the 13th hour with an offer to good to refuse, hence the delay in announcement but certainly caught Madge off guard.

Thanks for the info.

What a farce we have become.

We develop him for ages, he finally comes good. Our one player who actually has technique in his D. Who actually stings in D.

Can ball play and tackle = ideal long term 13.

Pom, have they even looked at the balance of the team? Because it looks like a mess right now. There are so many things needed that have not been addressed. The squad is top heavy in several positions and extremely weak in others.

If Madge is 'surprised' a kid he gave a chance to, who looked a long term starter, has suddenly left....what does that say about how we negotiate with players?

This sadly will happen until we get the cap in order and can afford to pay decent money across the board. 2.5m in Packer, Reynolds and Mbye is the problem. Brooks on massive money yet to deliver on his talent. We are a basket case but I think we are on the right track problem is we are two seasons away. It’s not pretty when it looks like 2022-23 to compete.

Any news on rusty’s headaches?

Lets see what the Titans signed him for before jumping up and down. If its for 300k then good luck and IMO thats overs

If its for $20-30k more then we offered then we are just a dumb club.

Just a question, if the POM knew that the Titans gazumped us on Thursday why did he not post anything until it was rumoured on here?
Maybe he is just a forum member with no more information than the rest of the people on here.

Look he’s not a huge loss, solid player the big question is will his money (which wasn’t much) be used well and will we replace him

We need another second rower at the club otherwise one injury and it’s literally Chee Kam on the bench and that’s not good enough

It's not great to lose him but he is definitely not a player that you get into a bidding war over. It is impossible to be critical when you do not know how much the Titans are paying him.

I dare say they’re paying a decent amount more than we are. Would he surprised if he even plays if their whole team if injury free there.

What’s important now is who we sign in his spot. We need a second rower pretty bad

cause you don't leak stuff like that. He would prefer the clubs officially announce it so public relations can be managed.

The hard part is there is not a lot around, losing him hurts, but paying him $250k+ would hurt us more

McIntyre played above his contract value..it's what you need to build a competitive squad..very disappointing he could not be retained for fair value

Best of luck to him if a better deal came from the Gold Coast..careers can be short..

He definitely played above his contract value, with the result, I guess, that he sought a bigger contract. Now, will he play above the value of an upgraded contract? Possibly.

Agree. It’s a tough situation for the club, almost a lose/lose. Fingers crossed they can work a miracle and find us another Luciano type signing, I guess the hope is that Blore nails down that starting second row spot too.

Can’t see us releasing Garner now that we’ve lost McIntyre either. They could move Luc back to the right now that Benji is gone and put Garner back to the left with Brooksy.

Sadly our recruitment guys are completely asleep at the wheel this year.

You could be right. On the other hand it is possible that the coaching staff don't rate McIntyre as highly as we fans do. They were happy to retain him, but not prepared to pay much in order to do so.

Most definitely a lose/ lose situation, he is not a player you get into a bidding war over. I would love to see Garner back with Brooks, we definitely need another quality second rower. Hopefully something will fall out of the tree when it gets a shake over the of season and we can use our reactionary signing skills to pick one up.

Remember all those years ago everyone was saying once we got a real coach, recruitment/retention would come on leaps and bounds. We must still be waiting for that real coach

We should’ve tried to sign Jacob host. He will be good for Souths

That's the clincher hey...

Not fussed about losing him IF we have a replacement. He's never gonna set the league on fire. But if there is no replacement then the offer should have been matched.

As you said, our back row depth is abysmal atm. MCK on the bench each week is not a recipe for success.

This past week has been something else. Only up from here:joy: :joy: :joy:

It’s not been the best week.... we need some good news at WT ?

I don’t see many first grade ready second rowers available, we will have to get an early release for someone if we do want a decent second rower

All aboard the Angus Crichton hype train

Let's hope Bradley & Seyfarth put on 10 kegs over the offseason and transform themselves into borderline 1st graders.

Assume BJ's diet of KFC three times a day

BJ actually looks like he’s lost weight this off season haha. Clearly worried about the club option for 2022 ?
