Clearly no transparency from McIntryre about his intentions. Can't trust anyone to do what they say they are going to do, and contracts mean squat anyway.

Did he come to the club and give them a chance to match the offer? I think that is a question that needs to be asked.

Fair question, but Why wasn’t he signed over 2 weeks ago?

I do think that is a fair question as well, I wouldn't be sitting around waiting, I would have been onto my manager to sort it out. That is what he is paid for.

Seems to me the manager did his job, looked after his client. His pay is obviously not in question. But did WT execs earn their pay? More to the point.

Yeah they should have been on top of this, but its a lot of drama over a fringe 1st grader. I get this is symbolic of greater issues at our club.

I guess it is a lot of drama, but aren’t we trying to develop a better culture? Or does that not apply to head office?
They can treat players with contempt if they are benchies?

The most disappointing thing about losing McIntyre is that this is the type of player you can keep for a fair wage if you have a good organisation I.e players want to stay. Paying overs for a fringe first grader with upside is bad business but we should be able to keep him to keep our depth strong. It’s a similar issue with the talented juniors. If true that McIntyre is gone, a player who can come in to first grade and look like he belongs then I think it’s a loss. We need a top 25 that full of players that don’t look out of place in first grade

Although I’m disappointed to lose Mac, I’ll reserve judgement until I see who his replacement is.
I imagine the club would have been given a chance to counter by his manager, perhaps they really want that spot freed up

Too be honest reading through these post I have probably gone a bit light in my response. We definitely should have had this under control and signed him up when he agreed to terms. That is a mistake we shouldn't have made, unless we have a replacement lined up.

To be brutally honest as much as I love this club the Titans are a club that will likely have more success then us over the next 3 years. If he was offered the same $ to live on the Gold Coast it’s not a silly move for him. Their forward pack will be the best north of the tweed

There is something strange with our system, somehow we manage to keep players that have minimum capabilities (e.g. Jordan, Lulia, Buchanan etc.) and they stay with us like forever, while we cannot keep better players e.g. Koroibete, Martin, Papenhousen, N Brown, and now Aloiai and McIntyre.
There was a period with Sheens when the system worked much better, and we continuously acquired better players.

The Pom said Madge was shocked by McIntyre’s exit, so I’m tipping there was no replacement lined up.

I think he will struggle to make their team.

Man... this is ridiculous.

McIntyre at this stage of his career is a player that only this clubs fans would have REALLY noticed and appreciated. Not to say other clubs didn't think he had something in him, but at this stage he's just another player in the NRL.

So the fact we couldn't keep a player like that... just insane.

You won't get better value for money.

Was he really signed?...doubt it as you can’t backflip anymore....maybe we only use Heads of Agreements nowadays

Gonna be a hell of a young mobile big pack with the Titans ... David Fifita, the Storm player Tino (not gonna try and spell his surname) and now Sam McIntyre.

I've seen more from SuperMac than Kepeoa , Talau Blore ..even Mikaele based on 2020

Doesn't make him anymore than a fringe 1st grader, along with the others at present as well.

Well you keep the best of them ......common sense tells you when every Sam , Josh ,JAC and Harry are bailing we need someone to throw a jersey on just in case

As much as us old blokes would wear the jersey with pride I'd expect to see our win ratio plummet

Played my 1st game of OzTag on Thursday, got a try, I think I still have it lol

Didn't mrealize they had a 70 and over comp still

I’m jealous this Christmas, their fans have been spoilt.

A lot of hullabaloo in a Sam McIntyre thread. Didn't want to lose him but he's played 12 games total and been concussed a few times. I didn't really want to lose Eisenhuth either as that type of bench / backup capable forward.

On the other hand everyone was totally happy to write McIntyre off before he debuted and he's been at the club a few years now.

I'll reserve judgement to see what the club does with the roster during the pre-season, given there seems to be so much late movement these days.

I wish, men's opens lol. Too old for that

This is disappointing news. Sam Mc was one of the few shining lights we had this season with his defence being a noticeable highlight. The Titans have got themselves a good player and WT management should be hung drawn and quartered. The young bloke deserved more than minimum wage and we're quickly firming for the spoon at this rate.

I think the spoon is a real chance unless there is a surprise coming.

We’d probably be favourites at this stage. Can’t think of anyone we’d be ahead of.
